Location: 22 oz bottle from State Line, 11/16/12

Aroma: The nose is heavily malty with lots of chocolate, the pepper is more subtle
Appearance: It pours a dark brown color with a small light brown head and some drippy lace spots
Flavor: It tastes malty, and it is a little sweet up-front, but it is also quite spicy. There’s much more of a peppery presence in the taste then the nose, especially in the finish, which is fairly heavy peppery and spicy.
Palate: The body is medium-full, with a soft carbonation, and a LONG lasting spicy tingle on the finish
Overall Impression: This is a pretty good beer. Everything about it feels balanced, even malty from the nose through the early/mid palates, but when you get to the finish, everything fades except the pepper, and the pepper seems to linger for a very long time (and even gets a little spicier). Interesting stuff, and I thought it was pretty tasty, but if you are pepper-averse, beware.

Bottle shared by Randall. Light heat. Slight vegetal notes. Ok. Seems a bit thin.

From notes, consumed on 5/5/13. Bottle poured into a tulip. Pours jet black with half a finger of tan head. Aromas of mostly chocolate and peppers/chiles. Tasting notes of dark chocolate and big chipotles. Warm chile finish. Medium body with a semi-dry finish. Really enjoy the pepper heat in this.

22 oz bottle shared by someone at Natifest. Pours a dark cola brown color with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have sweet chocolate, mild roasted malt, peppers are mild on the nose with an increase on the flavor. Just the right amount of peppery spice to keep this drinkable.

Taster from a bottle shared at Natifest 2013. Thanks to Phaleslu. Dark brown but clear color. Good light brown head. Good spread of lace. Good coffee in the nose, dark chocolate. Light chipotle in the finish. Very nice kick. Light carbonation. Bigger body. Lightly chewy. Spicy (chile-spicy). Moderate sweet. Interesting, assertive chipotle stout.

Bottle pour at Natifest 2013. Pours an opaque dark brown. Nose mostly milk chocolate. Mild roast. Taste again milk chocolate, roast, then hint of pepper in the finish. Pepper more an aftertaste, not overwhelming in heat. Plays well with other flavors.

22 oz. bottle from BMart- thanks again! Pours a deep brown with amber highlights and a small beige head. The aroma is rich and sweet, with chocolate, fudge, coffee, vanilla, and just a hint of the chipotle pepper. The flavor, though, packs a lot more chipotle, but all in the back end. It’s led with chocolate, fudge, caramel, and toast. Finishes spicy. Heat on the palate and throat. Medium-bodied, with medium carbonation and a dry, spicy mouthfeel. This is how a pepper beer should be done. Not overwhelming, complementary, and lingers a bit.

Bottle shared at natifest. Pours a dark brown with no head. The aroma has a lot of chocolate. The tastes let’s some pepper heat sneak into the equation with a tingle on the back of the tongue.

Bomber to taster at NatiFest (thanks to whoever shared this). Looks good; cola with lint beige lacing. Smells and tastes solid; dark malt and chocolate with a nice chipotle finish on the palate. Good beer.
