Draft at Bowie location. Arrived at the table a dark mahogany color with a very thin light-tan head. Lots of cocoa, Baker’s semi-sweet chocolate, roasted coffee, and toasted maltiness in the aroma. Goes down with the flavor and body of a solid porter rather than the "silky-smooth" body of an oatmeal stout. Caramel, toffee, cocoa powder, and toasty malts start things off flavor-wise. Light vanilla follows. Bitter dark chocolate and roasted coffee in the drying finish. An average stout at best.

Nice beer that’s roasty and toasty and tastes of burnt coffee and bread. Lots of roasted malt too. Good beer but they don’t bottle it. Not one to enjoy at your house. Impressive body and palate thats clean. Good beer, but I can’t buy it anywhere...

On tap @ DuClaw Fells Point. Black with a tan head. Aroma of chocolate, caramel and a roasty malt, also some very light hop aromas. Sweet malty flavor with a bitter sweet chocolate. Creamy and smooth with a mild carbonation. Very nice.

Location: Draft at the Fells Point Brew Pub, 9/6/09

Aroma: Lots of coffee, roasted malts, and a little licorice
Appearance: A dark black pour, with a beige head
Flavor: Similar to the nose, a nice malty flavor on this one
Palate: This one has a pretty nice mouthfeel
Overall Impression: Overall I liked this beer. It was one of the better things I got to try at DuClaw. Its not the greated stout out there or anything, but it is quite tasty and worth getting if you are in the Baltimore area and are able to swing by one of their locations.

(Draft @ Arundel Mills location) Pours dark brown with a thin biege head. Aroma of oatmeal, chocolate and coffee. Plalate fairly smooth although a bit thin and lightly prickly and pebbly - not much oatmeal smoothness. Flavor of chocolate and coffee, a little heavier on the coffee. Not particularly robust however.

Dark brown pour with thick beige head. Espresso on the nose. Mocha with frothy cream flavor that balances out all the roast going on... Very nice beer

Draft pours deep brown with a very light head. Sweet malts, bread and coffee in the aroma. Medium body but slightly slick. Sweet initial taste with coffee and cream undertones. A wee bit of licorice, but with all of that it goes down very smooth.
