COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
What could motivate us to replace the signature mix of hops in our classic pale ale, Venom, with a single variety? This amazing variant, hopped solely with American Citra hops for an array of vibrant citrus flavors, a big, fresh, fruity aroma and Venom’s crisp, refreshing, lingering finish. Pop the top and experience...a whole new bite.

22 ounce thanks to Michelle. Mild orange body with some floral hop profile but not what I normally expect from citra hops. Overall slight malt and bit muted hops. Ok. Drinkable, for sure.

Draft at brewpub. Poured deep golden with white head. Nose was that great Citra nose with pale malt, peppery spice in the nose and flavor, and a crisp, fresh finish. Bottling seems to have hampered this one, as the draft version I had was excellent.

Braudog (5025) - Hampton, Virginia, USA - DEC 8, 2012
Bottle. Pours as you’d expect a beer with "citra" to pour .. orange-amber, sticky but thin head, stark citric aroma. Easy drinking, crisp, tight, and rollicking with citrus, wood, fresh-cut grass. A bit overly earthy, but a good time drink nonetheless. (#4850, 12/8/2012)

Location: 22 oz bottle from State Line, 11/6/12

Aroma: The nose is citrus/grapefruit, some caramel, bread, and sweet malts
Appearance: It pours a dark orange-reddish color with a small head and some spotty lace
Flavor: The taste is a little more malty, then the nose, there’s bitterness, but not much citrus hop flavor
Palate: The body is medium, it drinks with a little creaminess, an average carbonation, and dry finish
Overall Impression: This one is solid, but not too much more. Trying to remember back to the Green Flash version I had on tap, I feel like this one has a slightly better nose, but otherwise, I liked them both about the same amount, but this one might be just slightly better.

Amber with a whit e head. Citrus in the aroma and also bread and roast malt. The citra shows in the flavor but the sweetness of the malt provides a nice balance.

Nice fruity hoppy aroma initially from the bomber. In the glass: a nice lingering head over a hazy not so pale pour. Citrusy and fruity hoppiness, a little thin but not bad by any means.

Bottle. Pours hazy amber with a hint of ruby and thick, frothy off-white head; short retention and decent lacing. Aroma is cereal and biscuit malt, floral hops, citrus fruit, herbs, and light celery. Flavor is balanced sweet malts and hops (light bitterness) with some light citrus esters and pine; dry finish. Light/medium body and low carbonation.

Tap at DuClaw Arundel Mills. Pours a low haze deeper orange amber. Medium off white head. Good retention. Nose is nicely pineapple heavy with fiber cereal grain an orange syrup. Taste is sweeter and a bit boozy with some almost pineapple mixed drink character. Some sugary artificial mango flavor. Palate is nutty and papery with a lot of butternut squash. Complete, sheety lacing. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
