A complex, robust porter, Bad Moon is medium to full bodied with a slightly sweet, malty presence combined with hints of chocolate and coffee.

Nice porters. I have been really getting into them lately and this one was balanced all around. Not too much of any ingredient.

Draft at brewpub. Pours dark blackish with off-white head that stays around awhile. Nose has some roasted black patent and choc malts, cacao, walnut. Tastes of roasty dark malts, cacao, backup hops, and a fairly dense finish, although not up to an Impy Porter level in my estimation. Still, a very good porter.

Tap at DuClaw Arundel Mills. Pours a deep, clear ruby like Guinness. Thicker beige foam. Thick beige lacing. Nose is muted cinnamon and spices. Baked cherry. Taste is small vanilla, weak chocolate, some bitter iced coffee. Palate is thinner but moderately oily. Not watery or soapy. No lemon tea character. Very drinkable and moderately rich with spiced Mexican chocolate. Liked this one. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On nitro-tap at DuClaw. A: This beer appears a near black shade with a creamy, white one inch head. S: The aromas are quite subtle, with some roasted malt and chocolate. T: The beer is pretty tasty, but again, the flavors are a bit subdued. I would prefer more roasted malt flavors and a creamier, denser beer. The nitro-tap creates a pretty velvety smooth feel, but I wish this beer had a fuller body. M: The feel has a slightly watery feel, but makes up for it with a silky smoothness, mostly due to the nitro-tap, Iím assuming. D: Overall, a pretty good beer. It wasnít amazing or special, but Iíll probably order it again at some point in the future.

This poured a medium brown color with a beige head. Aroma was of medium roast, light chocolate, and some grassy hops. Flavor was much the same, very well balanced and tasy porter, but waaay to light and watery for the style.

Location: Nitro at Arundal Mills Brewpub, 5/28/12

Aroma: Has a roasted malt nose, with a good amount of coffee
Appearance: This one has a clear brown pour and a lasting nitro head
Flavor: It has a roasted malt flavor with some dry coffee, it is fairly un-sweet overall
Palate: This one is smooth and creamy, with a nitro feel, and a medium-plus body
Overall Impression: I liked this one. It has a nice porter flavor, and it works well on nitro. It has a good feel to it as well.
