3.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aroma is truly amazing. Roasty coffee and sugary sweet oats. The taste and palate are a bit weak though and slightly watery. Tastes strong as it enters your mouth but the aftertaste is non existent. A fine brew.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Arundel Mills location. Black pour; somewhat thin with some light oak tones around the edges. Lightly acrid espresso aroma, with crushed black pepper and cinnamon infusing dark chocolate; honey and root beer come through a bit tepidly with some warmth. Ashes and bland smoke. Heavily roasted flavor; charred skin of steak, burnt figs, and winks of brisket tang. Earthy dominance throughout. Full in the mouth with substantial dark malts to subdue the milky tones and effervescent sparkle. Rustic cocoa bitterness and a full, heavy pulse of raw roast come through at the finish. Different, and satisfying.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: OCT 16, 2007 This is the way I like my porter. Aroma was full of roasty notes, with lots of chocolate, coffee, some carmel and a little bit of that burnt carmel that I really like in a porter. The beer came off the tap opaque black with a tan head that stayed as a film throughout the duration. mmm mmm good, flavor is initially coffee with some flavors of cocoa that leads into burnt toffee, and a roasted heaven. medium-full mouthfull that was silky smooth. One of the best porters Iíve ever had

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
The aroma was roasty coffe and chocolate with a low, yet pleasant, fruity aspect. The beer arrived Translucent black with a frothy brown long lasting head which laced the glass. The flavor was roasty coffee and chocolate, with light impressions of caramel . The flavors were very well blanced and not overdone, yet very smooth. The finish was dry with lasting roast, coffee and chocolate long and pleasantly into the aftertaste. the body was medium-full and with a moderate level of carbonation the beer was smooth and creamy on the palate. A truly great Porter.
Note: Had this one on both standard tap and nitro. Iím rating the standard since it was great. The nitro was not so great and a bit vegetal and if it were rated it might score a 3.3 at best. (6,5,6,4,12)

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft at Camden Yards. Poured a deep dark brown with some light brown around the edges and a very small light brown head. Aroma was nice upon warming and had lots of raosted malts, espresso and a slight sweetness. Flavor was weak compared to the pleasant aroma which was quite a let down.
