COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Paint it Black. Succumb to this dark, medium bodied German-style dark lager’s smooth roasted flavors and light hoppy bitterness. Don’t worry, you’ll remember everything the next morning. This beer has a rich maltiness with a light bitter-chocolate finish, and just enough hops to balance.

Draft at Arundel Mills. Pours deep coffee brown with a light beige head, spotty lacing.Lighter side of medium bodied with a lively but ultra fine carbonation. Lagery aroma with a hint of of roast. Flavor of cocoa powder, nuts, and dark roast. There is a slight bitterness that lingers, and the mild astringency fades as it warms

Interesting in that it had a nice hop finish. Easy drinking, carbonation low. Light roasted flavors, a bit on the watery side though.

Draft @Bel Air location in May 2008. Kind of plain and boring. Thin/watery mouthfeel. Minimal chocolate flavor and malt sweetness, no hops to speak of. Not the best effort from DuClaw, but then I’ve never had a really impressive schwarzbier.

On tap @ Arundel Mills-Black color w/a moderate tan head & good lacing. Looked kind of like a cola in the glass. Had a light roasted malt flavor w/a lot of carbonation, also traces of caramel & chocolate. Reminded me of a Porter, but watered down & with a lot more carbonation. It wasn’t a bad change of pace brew, but I would drink the Porter over this.

Draft pint at Arundal Mills location. Deep brown. Very thin. No aroma and carbonation. A little sour. Like the bartender said, " A dark beer to make you look cool if you do not REALLY like dark beer." Tasted like Bad Moon Porter light.
