3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 dsm (109) - Baltimore, USA - MAR 14, 2008
Draft at Fell’s Point. It pours dark brown with some lacing. It is just as advertised: coffee dominates, the mouthfeel is creamy, and the finish is dry. It is sweeter than I would have guessed but in a good way. It Is also a little thin. There is a strong effort here. Solid but not excellent.

Got this on tap today. Very smooth and mild flavor. Went down well, but not a whole lot as far as flavor goes. Good, not great.

UPDATED: APR 18, 2012 Pint on tap poured with no head :( nice near-black with a flash if red tint. Appears a little thin for a stout. Smells of burnt coffee and chocolate. Palate feel is pretty underwhelming... thin and dry. Taste is of dark malt and cocoa. Finish is a bit hoppy for a stout, dry and a bit burnt.

pours darker than alchemy with a lasting beige film.
very roasty aroma with notes of coffee, nearly burned sugar and some bitter cocoa.
the flavor is a richer version of the aroma with added hints of chocolate and dark pit fruit.
the medium body is soft and smooth. easy enough to put away that i ordered one after the sampler. 6/4/6/4/15/3.5

Very roasty malts with some coffee and light herbal tones. Smooth, medium mouthfeel. Light caramel malts with just a touch of smoke. I thought this was a solid stout, actually, and could have downed a few of them.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 lamas (1069) - Washington DC, USA - MAR 27, 2010
Draft at Bowie location on 03/26/10. Arrived at the table a dark, dark mahogany with a skim of a tan head. Strong aroma of dutch cocoa, roasted coffee, burnt malts, toffee, and a hint of vanilla. Goes down with a medium body. The taste starts off sweet with some toffee, cocoa, and a touch of vanilla. Bittering burnt malts, an earthiness, and roasted coffee flavors at the end. A very dry finish that lingers. Not bad, just not very memorable.
