Excellent chocolate aroma, but the chipotle is missing in the nose. No hops on the nose. Appearance is jet black with tan head. Poor head retention. Flavor contains a silky chocolate with a mild heat on the end note. Hop flavor is none. Mouthfeel is medium and smooth. Low carbonation. Overall, a great tasting beer. I love the chocolate flavor. I just wish I could smell the chipotle smoke on the nose ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, Wine Warehouse. Pours black & thick. Dusting of a head. Smells of dark chocolate, dust, and dirt. Tastes like chocolate candy, yuck. Dirt. Spicy finish. Might be good if the chocolate didn’t taste so much like cheap candy.

On tap 5 oz. sample at DuClaw in Bowie, MD. Opaque, brown-black with a small khaki head and fair lacing. Aroma of chocolate, chili peppers, sweet dark fruit and smokey roasted malt. Taste of chocolate and sweet smokey roasted malt with a peppery hot finish. Medium/full body and low/medium carbonization. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Fuego is not a lie. The spice comes out real hot on the aftertaste. Pour is dark, beer seems a little thin. Aroma and the up front taste is strong of chocolate.

Bottle. Pours a decent dark brown color with light red hues and a tan head. Aroma is light chocolate, earthy smoke, chile peppers, mild sweetness, smells solid....then. Taste drops off a lot, chipotle pepper, tootsie roll sweetness, red hot candy, artificial sweetness, some light chocolate notes, ehhh.

On tap at the bocktown. Big black no head with slight choco aroma. Fairly mild from the start. No ill impy BS here. Slight black coffee effects tho. Barely any co2 here. Decent stout experiences. Like able. Finishes with old roasted wet campfire wood.

Tap at the brewery. Pours an opaque dark brown with toffee colored head. Aroma of spices and chocolate. Taste has the chocolate up front that fades into spiciness.

Whoa! Jeckyl & hide! The pour is ok - dark w/ a rapidly dissipating head that doesn’t leave lacing. The aroma has some nice chocolate notes. The taste is watery smooth upfront & then burns in the finish w/ the chipotle kick. Too thin & uneven to make this work. Not really feeling it!

Sweet, with some heat in the finish but really nothing in between. Okay. No need to have another. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

There is both good and bad to this beer. Good- chocolate up from with a linger tongue tingle from the chipotle pepper. Bad- entirely to thin for a stout, especially at 7.5%. Also, no head, where’s the head?!
