Devilís Milk is an American-style Barley Wine. This beer exhibits a wealth of fruit flavors, from pears to plums to raisins. Devilís Milk is dry hopped (hops added after fermentation) for a strong bite that balances its big malt backbone. Served in a snifter glass because of the high abv, barley wines are perfect as a relaxing ďafter-dinnerĒ drink or nitecap.

Bottle pour. The beer is a clear brown with a white head of foam. The aroma has toffee, caramel, and herbal notes. Fairly sweet taste. Big body and moderate carbonation.

$2.45 Bottle from Wine Warehouse. Iíve gone against my better judgement and purchased a couple of DuClaw bottles that I hadnít tasted before. Full disclosure: I am not a fan of this brewery overall and I typically steer clear of their beers lately. That being said, letís go ahead and sample this. Pours clear deep amber with a gigantic beige head. Iíd say I only poured a quarter of the bottle and I canít get any more in. Aroma is quite pleasant: plums, nuts, pine, citrus. Iím starting to think this might end up being my highest rates DuClaw brew based on the aroma. Letís see how it tastes.... Very nutty... lots of cashews, walnuts, hell even coconut. Then add some raisin, pine, vanilla, and alcohol. By far, my favorite from this brewery. Note: my bottle says 11.5% abv rather than 10.5%.

One of the best barley wines I have had. Great for drinking by the fireplace! You really wouldnít know it is as strong as it is since it actually drinks very easily. Could be trouble if you had too many back to back. I could not find this around at all last year - very sad, missing it : (

Cloudy, dark yellow. A ton of head. The aroma is vanilla, almonds, honey, liquor. The flavor adds some spice and a fizzy mouthfeel. This is good barley wine.

12oz bottle. Another rot box beer. 2014 vintage. Pours a clear dark amber color with a small foamy tan head. Aroma of boozy caramel, plastic, hints of pine, and sweet rotted fruit. Taste of sweet caramel, earthy hops, grassy bitterness, toasted grains, and sweet fruit.

Devils milk high octane! Pours smooth and orange with a white head! Easy to drink and no bitter after tastes.

Pours up a hazy copper, with a thin off white head, and spotty lacing. Aroma of hops, resin and pine, some malts and some fruit. Taste is sweet, malty, some fruit notes and a sharp bitterness towards the end. Pretty boozy. This heavy hard hitter will knock your knocker in the dirt. Its strong. Not for every day use!
