COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Devil’s Milk is an American-style Barley Wine. This beer exhibits a wealth of fruit flavors, from pears to plums to raisins. Devil’s Milk is dry hopped (hops added after fermentation) for a strong bite that balances its big malt backbone. Served in a snifter glass because of the high abv, barley wines are perfect as a relaxing “after-dinner” drink or nitecap.

Bottle at the RBESG 2011 Grand Tasting, London. Pours clear ruby with a filmy, white head. Old hops in the aroma, with notes of caramel and straight sugar. Very sweet flavor rife with toffee, fruits, malt, caramel. Awesomeish. Full bodied with average carbonation. Mildly warming finish with moderate bitterness, sweet brown sugar and caramel. Very, very good beer.

Bottle shared by alexsadad06. Poured clear dark orange in color with an average white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy malt and dark fruit aroma. Moderate to heavy smooth thick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy dark sweet flavor to medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met with a complex beer.

Bottle (RBESGG2011, Grand Tasting)
Sweet malty aroma, a touch mashy. Boring mashy body. Sticky, but nice hoppy finish that tingles with bitterness. Alcohol not too prominant, which is a blessing at this strength. Underwhelmed, though. Perhaps they should have aged this for a year or two before selling it, as the mashiness is just way too young.

Bottle @ home, courtesy of my Secret Santa I believe. Pours a murky dark orange appearance with a thin tan head. Dark fruity, plum, raisin, brown sugar, light caramel, herbal hoppy, a bit spicy aroma. Somewhat goopy, rich caramel, sugary, apple, pear, plum, somewhat chewy, light cardboard, somewhat boozy flavor with a fairly boozy, burning finish even when cold. Overall, pretty solid beer.
