Devilís Milk is an American-style Barley Wine. This beer exhibits a wealth of fruit flavors, from pears to plums to raisins. Devilís Milk is dry hopped (hops added after fermentation) for a strong bite that balances its big malt backbone. Served in a snifter glass because of the high abv, barley wines are perfect as a relaxing ďafter-dinnerĒ drink or nitecap.

RBSG 2007: Bottle: Poured copper with a light tan head. Aroma, fruit, caramle, molasses. Flavor, spicy, caramel, some sweetness, with a good helping of fruits, some nice bitter hops on the finish. Very nice beer.

Aroma of sweet spruce and citrus hops. Pours a medium brown color with a small white head. Taste is dominated by citrus hops, pine, caramel sweetness, and the perfect amount of alcohol warmth. Mouthfeel is smooth and full-bodied with low carbonation. This is an outstanding barley wine - one of my favorites. Very enjoyable.

20090207 Tap at Bel Air location. A beast of a barleywine. Iím sure Iíve had this a few times before at gatherings or whatnot, but this is the first time Iíve had it fresh and itís better than I remembered. And fresh it was with sturdy, sweet malts, biting, intense hops, and lingering alcohol burn. Strong stuff!

Bottle at the RBESG 2011 Grand Tasting, London. Pours clear ruby with a filmy, white head. Old hops in the aroma, with notes of caramel and straight sugar. Very sweet flavor rife with toffee, fruits, malt, caramel. Awesomeish. Full bodied with average carbonation. Mildly warming finish with moderate bitterness, sweet brown sugar and caramel. Very, very good beer.

My very first Barley Wine, so I do not have a comparison. Nice floral and grassy aroma. Pours medium orange and hazy with a slight head. Initial taste of sweet fruitiness gives way to a slightly bitter finish. Overall a very tasty beer that I would definitely purchase by the case or even keg. At 10.6% abv it packs a little kicks.

Great Barley Wine! Top of the list at a recent seasonal fest. Sweet up front. Too easy to drink as the high alcohol is cleverly masked with maltiness and portly notes. THen a nice dry hoppy finish slides in to make this a very memeorable quaff.

Color of merlot wine. Minimal head with light lacing. Sweet, malty aroma. Well carbonated, spicy taste with a distinct hop presence. Sweet finish.

UPDATED: NOV 9, 2011 Thanks to scraff for bringing this to When Continents Collide 2! Dark reddish brown with a small foamy tan head. Fermenting fruit, and malt aroma with some lighter caramel notes. Creamy mouthfeel, for a barleywine. Some malt, caramel and fruit (peach/nectarine?) hints in the taste. VERY drinkable. Great barleywine!

****RE-RATE**** Bottle. Copper pour with a short beige head. Sweet aroma with lots of dark fruit, caramel and sweet malt atop soft hops and cake. Taste is big caramel, sweet malt, dark, fermenting fruit, brown sugar, citrusy hops and pineapple upside-down cake. Body is medium with a pleasant, creamy carbonation. Ends with more brown sugar and caramel, lots of sweet, chewy malt, citrus fruit, dark fruit notes and more cake
