Devil’s Milk is an American-style Barley Wine. This beer exhibits a wealth of fruit flavors, from pears to plums to raisins. Devil’s Milk is dry hopped (hops added after fermentation) for a strong bite that balances its big malt backbone. Served in a snifter glass because of the high abv, barley wines are perfect as a relaxing “after-dinner” drink or nitecap.

On tap at the brewpub. Clear amber brew with very little head. Smells decent - grassy hops, toffee, caramel but flavor is lacking. Lots of alcoholic heat.

on tap @ Hebron Brew House / Hebron KY --- Slightly hazy dark amber color, beige head, full curtain of lace. Taste is bracing semi-sweet malt that becomes less sweet as it moves through a burst of carbonation, followed by earthy burlap and pear in a finish that offers only the possibility of hops. Bold, big, light in the belly, a really appealing brew. Highly recommended.

Bottle@home, from Wine Spot, Cleveland, USA. Medium/strong distinctive slightly artificial aroma with raisin, caramel and alcohol. Dark copper color with small light beige head and semi-hazy liquid. Strong complex taste with sweet raisin, plum, cherry and alcohol. Averagely balanced with wide/medium taste spectrum and long sweet hoppy aftertaste of sweet raisin and a hint of sweet malts. Medium/strong body with medium/light carbonation. Overall, distinctive taste but in a bit artificial and messy fashion.

Bot. Pours a thicker looking menacing darker amber color. Mild sweet perfume aroma. First taste is bitter alky thang. Next taste is rough personality. Difficult fer sher. Strongish punch in the face. Volatile. Not too enjoyable IMHO. I guess it does what its s’posed to, make you dizzy.

Pours dark amber with an off white head. Aroma is dark dried fruit, caramel, and pine resin and alocohol. Sticky mouth feel. Flavor is caramel malt, dark dried fruit, brown sugar, and raisins. Finishes with booziness and pine resin.

On tap at Bethesda Food and Beverage. Nice dark orange body with medium head. Nose is hoppy, with some spices and barley in there. Very inviting. Taste is just great, with lots of floral notes, malts, barley, caramel and big alcy taste. Very strong kick to it. Really liked this. Nice creamy texture too.

Tap, on release day so you know its fresh and highlighting the hops. Pours clear orange, small beige head, dissipates leaving decent lacing. Aroma is surprisingly light, hints of pine, perfume, floral notes, hints of cardboard, honestly. Flavor is light plus sweet, fully bitter, floral, perfume and pine. Medium body. Odd and not really appealing. Whats the draw here? At least the ABV is well hidden.
