[7790-20151005] Bottle. Malty chocolate mud aroma. Hazy, dark amber brown body with a quick foamy off-white head. Sweet malty burlap and wet grains and toasted crusts flavour. Medium body. Seems a little burnt. (7/3/5/3/11) 2.9

2015-10-05. Hazy dark brown body, small beige head fades. 3+ Aroma has some toasty malt, very light oxidation, toffee and notes of tootsie roll. Flavour is similar, dryish start and finish with pleasant toffee and caramel notes in the middle. Toasty not quite roasty malt. Average bodied palate, soft carbonation. Decent. Bottle from Ye Old Spirit Shop, Frederick, MD.

Tap. Pours clear deep amber, small beige head, dissipates leaving decent lacing. Aroma is malty, spicy, Belgian spiced almost, hint of nuttiness. Flavor is quite spicy, Belgian in character, spicy, grassy, herbal, caramel. Medium body. Weird and not what I expected. Bartender confirms the pour though.

Not a bad brown ale. It poured a clean, dark brown color with a light tan head. It left some nice lacing around the glass. There wasn’t much to the nose. It was on the bland side with just a touch of caramel. The flavors were also light and kind of watery with notes of toffee, caramel and light hops.

Pours a deep dark reddish brown with a slight off white head which is gone quickly.....aroma of smoked sweet malt.....taste is caramel, slight smoke, sweet toffee dropping off into bitterness. Interesting and different.

12 oz bottle from Triangle Wine for 2 dollars. Pours clear brown, fizzy light brown head. Taste and aroma consist of light toffee, sweet malts, some brown sugar flavor as well. Overall palate is just average. A decent enough brown ale but far from the best.

Looks awful. Way too light for a brown ale with no head. Taste isn’t at all bad though, I get caramel, hazelnut, and a hint of coffee.
