Iím sorry but this is the best beer Iíve ever had. The flavors blend so well. Iím not a hop fan, hate ipas. This beer is "LIQUID GOLD". I wish I didnít have to to MD to get it.

Bottle shared by a friend. Pours clear copper with a medium beige head. Malty aroma with notes of toffee, nuts and earthy hops. Malty flavor with caramel and huge toffee character before an earthy finish. Pretty tasty.

Clear brown pour with reddish highlights and thin layer of offwhite head. Smells of caramel and hazelnut, but the aroma is a bit faint. Flavor is not as understated. Very matly caramel and toffee. Sweet, but not too sweet. This was pretty damn good actually.

bottle from beckleyís consumed 6/15/12. clear auburn/mahogany/dark amber with an ow tinted head. aroma is as promised...loads of toffee, toasted nuts, vanilla, some malt and maybe some chocolate/coffee business. the flavor is much the same but with some numbing grassy/herbal hops and spice along with some slight acidity on the finish. itís fairly highly carbonated and rather thin...though it is very crisp and easy to put away. 7/3/7/3/15

This poured a semi cloudy lighter brown color with a beige head. Aroma was of nuts, toffee, very light chocolate and caramel too. Flavor was very rich toffee and caramel notes, good amounts of nuttienss too, almost peanutbutter esque. One of my favorite nut browns iíve ever had. Well done.

Aroma: Sweet caramel/toffee and chocolate, plus lots of nuts on the nose
Appearance: It pours a clear light brown-amber color, small off-white head, and light lace
Flavor: The taste is much like the nose, sweet and nutty from the malts
Palate: This brew is medium bodied, it has a pretty nice feel, and drinks easily as well
Overall Impression: I found this one to be a very solid, sweet and nutty brown. The components are on target for the style, and that style is well done. It has a strong flavor profile.

Bottle. Dark mahogany with a short, foamy tan head. Aroma is very nutty with vast amounts of toffee, cocoa, caramel and sweet malt. Taste is very much toffee and nuts with caramel, cocoa notes, soft hops and sweet malt. Rather tasty! Body is medium with a soft, bubbly carbonation. Finishes with more toffee, cocoa, chocolate covered nuts and soft hops.

UPDATED: JUN 23, 2012 Picked me up a growler of this yesterday and figured I would give a rating. The aroma is really nice. Smells like toffee and maple. Appearance is a nice dark brown with a tinge of red. The taste is a good mix of the aroma with a bit of malt and kind of sweet. Feels nice and smooth on your tongue and goes down very easy. Overall I enjoyed it very much.

Bottle. Pours a nutty brown caramel with a small beige head. Nose is lightly nutty, toffee, caramel. Palate is full, light syrup texture with a slighty bite in the finish. Flavors of nuts, molasses, toffee, caramel.

The pour is a clear reddish brown with a thin creme head. The scent is mild but fresh, with definite notes of toffee. The taste is caramel with a semi-dry toffee after-note. Subtle lacing on the glass. A mild but very drinkable ale. My favorite DuClaw offering. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
