Too much toffee character. If youíre a fan of flavored coffees then this might appeal to you.

Pours transparent dark brown with a small off white head. Aroma is candy like toffee and a bit of almond. Taste is sweet toffee and then a toasted english muffin with a nutty hint. Medium body, easy to drink. Interesting brown ale.

A nice take on a brown ale. Color is a little darker than most brown ales. The taste is quite creamy and the finish is nice and sweet.

Not sure where its coming from, but Iím getting hazelnuts in both the aroma and taste, on top of some caramel and toffee.. The whole thing comes off very sweet

bottled - toffee, brown ale. Taste is a bit artificial. Not terrible, but not as good as the other Duclaw brews that Iíve had (like Sweet Baby Jesus!)

Pours a soft amber that sits kind of tawny brown in the glass, one finger of off-white head. Looks like an insipid amber ale. Smells like Yoo-Hoo and dusty caramel. Some nutty/biscuity notes show as well and a stock/aged character. Dusty/musty flavor with some nutty and bready notes. Tastes stale-ish and not too hot. Light bodied and weak sauce.

From a bottle, nice brown pour, no sediment. Smells perhaps like a sweeter darker beer. Decent co2 on the uptake and yes it does have a sweeter toffee and caramel feel to it. Almost cloying but not quite. Starts out sweeter then finishes with a nearly typical porter or milder brown ale effect.

Winter Beer Fest, Philly: Pours light brown with an off-white head. Aroma is caramel, nuts and vanilla (seems like Iím the only one saying this... am I crazy?). Taste is on the sweet and low hop side of the Brown Ale world. Easy drinking. Not bad. It ainít really my thing though.

12 ounce bottle poured into a brandy snifter. The aroma has sweet toffee notes with nutty smooth peanut butter. The taste is sweet and nutty. Light to medium body and moderate carbonation.
