COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Someone call George Clinton because the Funk is about to arrive. DuClaw’s latest creation, Funk, is a blueberry citrus wheat ale that screams summer with an almost shandy-like crispness and flavor. This brew features Meyer lemons and blueberries as well as Cascade and Columbus hops. Look for this beer on shelves starting next Friday.

Bottle at Coach House Grill in Old Harper’s Ferry. Nice blueberry aroma. Golden pour with almost no head and none that lasted more than a minute. Bubbly mouth feel with a flavor that fell a touch off the nice aromas. But I expect that from any non-German wheat beer. Not bad for the style.

Had this at The Corner Pub, Gaithersburg MD. Aroma is blueberry, but very sweet and sugary. Color is light amber, decent lacing. Tastes like blueberry juice, maybe some bitterness at the back but it’s overwhelming blueberry. Finish is clean. Not sure I like this one much, dial back the sweetness.

on tap at Dog & Bull in Croydon - deep golden color. Nice blueberry aroma and slight blueberry flavor that isn’t overpowering.

12 oz bottle from Giant Eagle in Pittsburgh. This was a so-so kind of okay in this category experience. Faults given to dryness and a lingering unnatural fruit taste.

Bottle->goblet at Spacebar. Golden yellow with white film. Aroma is Boo Berries with some citrus and grains. Taste is more Boo Berries with a muddled blend of lemongrass and hint of hops. The only funk about this is the nasty artificial blueberry flavor permeating a messy hop/grains mix. In a word, disgusting.

Tons of blueberries and lemon on the nose. Much more blueberry in the taste. A little like a blueberry lemonade minus the overall sweetness. Good summer beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Crisp, clear golden coloured body with a copper glow and a touch of peach, along with a small, single centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of peaches, blackberries, yeast, malt, alcohol, lemons and way too many blueberries - nice! Light-bodied; Assertive fruit flavour with a touch of a bitterness from malt and an overtone from metal/cardboard with a light sweetness, but not much int he way of malt backbone or hops. Aftertaste shows the fruity sweetness, but a touch too watery and with no real complexity aside from the fruits. Overall, a decent beer, but a bit light on flavour profile and complexity - still not a bad beer to sample. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Total Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 17-May-2015 for US$8,49/six pack, sampled at home in Washington on 12-June-2015.

Bottle. Clear light brown orange pour with a think white head. Blue berries, pineapple, orange, tropical fruits, wheat. Light body. A bit candy like. Not my favorite
