2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 DiarmaidBHK (2274) - Pennsylvania, USA - APR 24, 2013
Draft at BWI Duclaw. Pours golden with an inch of white foam. Slight floral on the nose. A bit of guava on the tongue. Finishes clean. This is really boring and poorly named. Hellrazer? Only at the home.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 ROGUE (1566) - Newark, Delaware, USA - APR 19, 2013
12oz bottle. Poured a rich copper brown color with a one finger lingering head off white head. Spicy hop aroma with a slight malt backbone. Taste of pine resin and grapefruit hops with a touch of tropical fruit and a moderately sweet caramel malt profile. Hops show more to the finish but are not strongly pronounced. Slightly sticky, with a medium body and decent carbonation.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20 foosnbrews (110) - Parker, Colorado, USA - APR 17, 2013
Sweet alcohol aroma, no strong hop aromas. Flavor is of earthy hops, alcohol, and a nice maltiness. Clear golden with very little head. Nice palate but low carb from bottle. Overall is below average. For an IPA the aroma and hop presence are lacking.
1.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20 Elwood (2491) - Leesburg, Virginia, USA - APR 14, 2013
Serving: 12 oz. bottle from Wegmans Leesburg. It pours a slightly hazy copper color with a short lived off white head. The nose has a slightly off vegetal note with plastic fusel notes. Not very inviting. The flavor has doughy plastic notes with a horrible bitterness the whole way through. This one is a drain pour. Just plain terrible.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 MadRobin (991) - Silver Spring, USA - APR 14, 2013
On tap 5 oz. sampler at DuClaw in Bowie, MD.
Clear, medium amber with an off-white head and excellent lacing.
Aroma of caramel, grass, toffee, herbal hops, pine, spice and a little citrus. This is not your typical American citrus/pine hops aroma. The hops are milder and more complex and lean more toward the grassy, herbal, leafy end of the hops spectrum.
Taste of caramel and the same grassy, herbal, leafy hops with elements of pine and citrus.
Medium body and high carbonation.
Nothing spectacular, but definitely an interesting IPA worth trying.

Deep copper, hazy pour with thin to no white head .... Aroma of sweet caramel malts, light bubblegum, earthy and citrusy hops ... Taste is sweet and of caramel malts, light piney/tropical fruity hops with a bitter and chewy juicy fruitlike flavor ... has some earthy notes to it with a malty backbone .... finish is bitter, with chewy caramel malts and some earthy hops ... mouthfeel is thick and heavy for an ipa .... decent with abv hidden well, but not a world beater
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 jgb9348 (3964) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - MAR 22, 2013
Crisp copper coloured body with a nice thin tan head. Aroma of fresh hops, grapefruit, light malt and a hint of sugars - fairly nice. Medium-bodied; Strong hop flavour up front with a good earthy malt flavour, some subdued grassy and herbal flavours and a crisp sweet finish, almost like a lager. Aftertaste shows some fresh hops in the finish with a bit of an earthy or toffee like flavour at the end, all with a good malt balance. Overall, a good IPA - not stellar, but a good balance of hops and malt and some nice earthiness to mellow out the hops. I sampled this pint on draught at the brewpub in Bowie, Maryland on 28-April-2012 for US$5.00.

Total Wine: Pours dark amber with an off-white head. Aroma is caramel malt, some citrus, and dirt. Taste is pretty conventional malty IPA. Drinkable and pleasant, but forgettable.

Bottle->SA. Pours a cloudy amber wi offwhite head, decent lace. Aroma is citrus hops and malt. Taste is same. Malt is much more pronounced than in a typical IPA. Poor balance here.
