Pours black with a cream brown like foam that just hugs the ring of my glass. The aroma is of malts, chocolate, lite smoke, and lite fruit. The flavor has malts, bitter chocolate, and a touch of rye in the finish. The after taste is pleasant. The X1 is balanced nicely. No ingredient comes off too strong. Overall this was a fine brew, well worth trying.

Black pour with a decent sized khaki head .... aroma is all chocolate baby, with a light roasted and caramel malt ..... taste is of chocolate/cocoa, roasted and caramel malts ..... body is nice and full with a light oily/slickness to it .... finish is lightly bitter ... the rye is hardly there, but this is a solid imperial porter .... almost reminds me of a southern tier choklat

Bomber from The Perfect Pour, Elkridge, MD. Viscous, oily, near black pour with a silky tan head on top. Nose is richly sweet as expected, but in addition to the hints of roast coffee the spice and grain give this a depth dimension that redeems it from being overly cloying. The hefty mouthfeel gives it even more of a bready quality, an earthy dessert like a hippie muffin or something. Plus breakfast stout. What’s not to like?

Serving: 22 oz. bottle from State Line Liquors. It pours a viscous black with a thick tan head. The nose has notes of soy sauce and chocolate. A little smokiness emerges as it warms. Full bodied and rich on the tongue. A little sweetness combined with notes of soy, dark chocolate, earthy malt, and smoke. Quite the combination. Very tasty stuff.
