Bottle from lukin013. Thanks! This pours a golden-orange color with a thin to moderate head that fades away pretty quickly. The aroma is pleasant with banana, clove, yeast, and a herbal spice. This is a solid brew. It?s sweet but not cloying like beers in this style can be. There?s a crisp spice that compliments the sweet citrus fruit fairly well. Not much funk. The body is on the thick side but I?m happy with the drinkability with this as there?s just a gentle alcohol orange tangy element. This was my first brew from DuClaw and I look forward to trying others.

Bottle. Hazy gold with a medium, foamy white head. Strong coriander and citrus up front in the aroma with spice notes, grains and some boozy notes following it up. Taste is coriander, lemon zest, orange peel, candied citrus, spices, grains, sweet malt, yeast and alcohol. Body is medium with a strong, prickly carbonation and moderate boozy warmth. Ends with more spices, orange peel, grains, coriander, and alcohol. A touch too boozy, really.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Norm’s, 4/27/12

Aroma: It has a good amount of lemon/citrus/orange, lots of spice, and some yeast
Appearance: It pours a cloudy gold-orange color without too much head or lace-work
Flavor: Tastes somewhat sweet: citrus, spice, and a little wheat, with some boozy flavors too
Palate: The body is fairly light, with lively carbonation, some stickiness, and a little bit of heat
Overall Impression: I thought this was a decent beer, it had some nice components, but I found some flaws in it as well, so I cannot go too high with the score.

22 oz. bottle. A hazy old gold pour with a light and fluffy beige head. A pungent aroma of coriander, orange peels, juicy oranges, cloves, tropical citrus, a yeasty funkiness, vanilla cream, and a touch of light caramel off in the distance. Goes down full-bodied and almost syrupy. DEFINITELY not the average witbier. Wheaty and yeasty upfront taste-wise with some very light caramel and bananas. Some cream in the middle. Zesty orange rinds and lemons at the drying end. Lots of spiciness with cloves and coriander. Plenty of warming alcohol all the way through. A tad boozy by the end. Not quite cloying. Kinda intense, but still quite enjoyable.

Lemon nose with coriander only in the background. Cloudy amber, thin head. Yikes! This is hot! The presence of fusel alcohol obliterates everything else. Among the vapors, there are curacao, triple sec, and lemon pound cake notes. Finishes with musk melon. This could be a decent beer, but the alcohol is out of control for what this is. That is not to say that there shouldn’t be imperial wits, as some have said. There are great examples of the style, but this really isn’t one of them.

Bomber from Beer Run. Pours a slightly hazy golden with a thin fizzy white head. Decent head retention. Big citrus notes in the aroma along with coriander, other spice, and yeast. The taste is sweet and tart citrus notes with a spicy finish. Medium bodied. A bit like a citrus bomb. Meh.

The smell was great, very complex with lots of spice mixes. Looked great. Foe me the taste was just a little overpowering. Just too strong a spice flavor. Not positive which spice turned me off, but one of them definitely did.

Hazy orange with a big speckled white head. Aroma is very wheaty, with citrus, spice and a little bit of sulfur. Taste is all those things with sharp citrus notes. Very much a double wit, and frankly that’s the only way I like my wits. $8/22oz

on tap at arundel mills 6/13/10. hazy orange with a white head. it smells and tastes of... huge orange and cardamom with lesser notes of dusty wheat, flowers and crisp spice. it is a bit overboard on the spiciness. thick (but not cloying) and somehow crisp. weird... reminds me of blue moon gc... 6/4/5/3/13/3.1
