COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Haunting the congregation with its distinct copper color and rich toasted malt flavor, this true German-style Oktoberfest lager is smooth in body and uses German hops in the brewing process to balance out the distinctive, toasted malt sweetness. The clean smoothness is created by the long conditioning (lagering) process of 8 weeks.

Bottle. Nose is a little dirty, toasted caramel, little stale. Transparent amber-copper pour with a sudsy beige head. Taste only slightly sweet, picking up some great toffee and light earthy tones, touch rubbery and unclean, but also fresh and bright. Really a bunch of contradictions. Medium body, malty with some surprising notes, almost pumpkinous (colored me surprised, but my palate’s fine) with accompanying spice, light cloying fruit in the bg. Smooth with pleasant lager body, just has some oddities that make me push away an offered second.

12 oz bottle. Pours amber with long lasting, foamy white head. Aroma is of grassy hops, caramel malt and sourdough. Body is full and smooth. Grassy hops, caramel malt, grain and some salt fill the mouth. Finish is medium and almost dry. OK brew.

Fine oktoberfestbier. Rich lager, lots of fruit on the hops, and a sweet-but-not-too-sweet malt profile.

Nice toasted clean malt aroma. No hops on the nose. Appearance is orange with an off-white head with excellent retention. Flavor contains an initially sweet toasted malt flavor that is somewhat dried out by the hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium with medium carbonation. Overall, its a decent Marzen. I think it needs some more hop bitterness to dry out the finish though.

12 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Poured reddish copper, clear with nice off white head, lots of lacing. Aroma is malty, caramel, some mild hop notes. Taste is also quite sweet and malty, some spices, some nutty notes, slightly bitterness towards the end. Nice, drinkable, not bad.

Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance – The beer pours a lightly hazed copper color with very smell off white head. The head fades rather fast, leaving a persistent foam on the surface of the beer and a little bit of lacing on the sides of the glass. Smell – The nose of the beer is sweet and malty with the sweeter smells being largely of a caramel and toffee smell and the malty being a blend of toasted malt and bready smells. Some fruity aromas of a pear as well as some cherry are in the nose as well. Taste – The taste begins with a rather thick and sweet bready taste with a little bit of a roasted nature. The sweet flavors are a mix of toffee and brown sugar with both of these growing even stronger as the taste advances onto the end. A little bit of a roasted flavor joins the tongue, but the bready flavors also become more doughy in nature as the taste advances, giving the brew a very sweet and malty taste. A tiny bit of darker fruits of plum and a little bit of an earth hop come to the tongue at the end, leaving a rather sweeter and malty flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the thicker and chewier side with a carbonation level that is on the lower side. For the malty and sweet the feel is quite appropriate really creating a thick and coating feel for the brew. Overall – In some respects the thickness and sweet maltiness was a bit cloying and too much. Not an Oktoberfest I would likely frequent often.
