Mlieby hooked me up with some of these as extras in an already great trade... Thanks Matt, I love a good German lager, and just in time for Oktoberfest!
Enjoyed from my CBC tulip.. Polished amber with a foamy white head.. Proper complex malty nose, nothing is overdone and still definitely not one dimensional, clean and smells Continental. Flavor fires on all the same cylinders, very smooth on the palate and still pretty drinkable despite the higher ABV.. Tastes like the leaves should be changing. Medium body and bubble... Very well made.
Thanks again Matt, this one is a big winner.

1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20
Poured from 12 bottle. Malty notes lead through on this amber colored ale. Notes of barley shine through keeping true to tradition.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Just going through all the Oktoberfests I massed up over the past couple months before they go bad. This one is average among a category that strives for average. Pours brown with OK head and lacing. A little touch of mash sourness. Some barley. Aftertaste gets annoying after a few sips. Bottle.

12 ounce bottle poured into a teku. Pours a hazed copper with a white froth of foam. Good head retention. The aroma has bread and spice carrot cake notes. Taste lends bready sweetness with some smarties and grass found toward the back end. Medium bodied. Medium to high carbonation.
