3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 twindog (157) - Hampstead, Maryland, USA - OCT 9, 2011
Beer pours a dark copper color, with a lite white head. This beer is a little light in the taste. This is a good octoberfest beer and the best part it’s a local beer. Good job Duclaw.

A: The beer pours a clear light amber color with a finger of off-white head.
S: Slightly metallic on the aroma and overall very bland. A light nuttiness as well as a bit of stale bread and toffee. Really not very pleasant.
T: The flavor has sort of a spoiled nut flavor to it. A little bit of garbage in there too. Some toffee and bready malt flavor, a little bit of yeast, and some apple esters.
M: Medium bodied with low to medium carbonation.
O: Not what I was expecting from an Oktoberfest.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 JDBaker11058 (616) - Maryland, USA - OCT 7, 2011
Apperance: deep and coppery, almost orange, with practically no head and zero lacing; a syrupy pour almost like orange nyquil. Aroma: salted caramel, toasted malts and, just a hint of beef jerky. Taste: yep, there are some definite meat flavors going on here, hints of almost like a rauchbier or scotch ale; the rest is typical marzen. Finish: lingering sweet toasty malts, caramel, and meaty smoke. Notes: I’m not imagining it. Took me awhile to put my finger on it, because there was just something a little odd about this beer. Maybe it was fermented on a bed of schnitzel in honor of the season. Still pretty good, and I actually kind of liked that salty, smoky note. A little on the syrupy side though.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 jcos (573) - Maryland, USA - OCT 6, 2011
Location/Date:Bottle on October 6th, 2011.
Appearance: Pours a semi clear copper.
Aroma: Maltier similar to other Oktoberfests, but a bit more bready.
Taste: Whatever bothered me in the aroma is getting to me in the taste. Strong malt front, finish is, I guess, somewhat bready and sweet..
Palate:Medium body, semi-long finish.
Summary: I’ll stick with German made Oktoberfests.
