From a bottle poured an amber color with a lot of head. Light spicy malty flavor with a lingering aftertaste.

(Bowie, rated on-site using brewpub’s WiFi) Crystal clear body with off-white head. Aroma is mild, medium sweet, caramel, light earthy. Taste is moderately sweet, caramel, some candi sugar, light cherry, earthy in finish with a touch of peat. Medium body with some stickiness. Evokes a Scottish Ale.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Elwood (1967) - Leesburg, Virginia, USA - MAY 17, 2012
Serving: 12 oz. bottle from State Line Liquors. It pours a copper color with a huge, active head of off white foam. Can you say over carbonated? This brew just keeps bubbling along. The nose has some floral notes along with some fusels, green candied apple, and a slight sweetness. The flavor is a little sweet and then the mouthfeel quickly moves to an astringent chalkiness. The flavor is pretty much spot on with the nose and that’s not a good thing. This one is a bit of a mess.

caramel and kibble nose, somewhat meaty. Clear reddish copper, thin yellow head. Dried leaves and berries initially but quickly assumes a more vegetal quality. Less tha pristine, some qc issues, but I like what the brewer is striving for.

Deep amber (rust). Not much flavor or aroma... Little malty on both, but not much. Carboantion causes a little bite. Okay overall.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 willblake (2601) - Bel Air, Maryland, USA - SEP 23, 2010
UPDATED: SEP 24, 2010 20100923 tap at Bel Air. Fairly dark teak brown with quick tan head. Aroma is typically malty with decent pretzel and brine, but also a disappointing and persistent rusty metal smell. Actually a bit of work trying to get beyond that... the off, metallic notes continue right into the flavor. Some mild malts, at least it’s not sweet, but the carbonation is almost at the club soda level. In all, this one is a let down. Those metallic issues are something I’ve noticed recently in the porter, too. I wonder if there’s a problem somewhere?
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Lubiere (6988) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 22, 2009
A reddish copper ale with no head. A pleasant caramel and fruity esters aroma, with light butterscotch and funky notes. In mouth, a murky malt with astringent notes, very light and a bit cloying. On tap at Duclaw Baltimore, Dec. 29 2008.

A: The beer pours a clear light amber color with a finger of off-white head.
S: Slightly metallic on the aroma and overall very bland. A light nuttiness as well as a bit of stale bread and toffee. Really not very pleasant.
T: The flavor has sort of a spoiled nut flavor to it. A little bit of garbage in there too. Some toffee and bready malt flavor, a little bit of yeast, and some apple esters.
M: Medium bodied with low to medium carbonation.
O: Not what I was expecting from an Oktoberfest.
1.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 Butters (3015) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - JAN 26, 2012
Clear copper amber pour with ring of tan head. Sickly sweet acidic apple nose. Flavor is a bit off to me. A little nail polish. Big malty caramel underlying all the flaws. Sweet and toasted but really vegetal. Would not consider it ’clean smoothness’ as the description claims. Big carbonic bite. Maybe this would have been better fresh, but this bottle has something flawed with it.
