Pours a slightly hazy reddish-orange with two fingers of dense offwhite head. Clears up with some warmth. Nose is a tad spicy with a rich caramelly character, similar to a sweet bread. Notes of peach and warming alcohol with a hint of banana. Rich flavor, very fruity and a bit spicy. Warm banana bread. Alcohol gets a tad hot.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
This beer has the perfect name. It smells and tastes like misery. Or just plain miserable. Rotten vegetables, diacteyl, and sugary caramel corn highlight the nose. Flavor is sweet, boozy, and lightly bitter. Never been a big fan of this style, but this one takes in to new levels of crappiness.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
(22 oz. bottle) Pours hazy yellow-gold with a white head. Aroma of candy-malt, caramel, sweet fruitiness and some alcohol. Mouthfeel soft, smooth, sticky. Weepy, broken rings of lacing. Flavor is sweet, fruity, candy-ish and smoky. ABV presence warms but doesn’t burn. Kinda messy but I liked the malty smokiness.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
22oz Bottle: Pours a clear deep copper amber with a spotty-lacing off-white head. Has a sweet light caramel malt and wheaty nose with a touch of grapefruity hops and light fruity esters. Starts with a rich sweet caramel and toffee flavor with some strawberry fruitiness and a touch of golden raisins before a slightly drier and warming finish. Pretty true to style wheat wine, but could hide the alcohol a little better.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: SEP 19, 2013 Bomber from State Line. The pour is clear pumpkin orange with minimal eggshell head. Nose is hard to decipher; a mix of canteloupy fruit, fusels, caramel malt, Gerber pear baby food, and brut champagne. Tastes rich, hoppy, metallic, with caramel malt, pears, and big sticky hops. Finishes hot and discombobulated.
Re-rate 09/19/2013: Bomber from Whole Foods PM. Tasted of rich syrupy caramel malt, vinous fruit, mild honey, hops. This one is getting kicked up a few notches, as it is better than I recall from a few years back.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
(bottle) A hazy red-copper with a small white head. Aroma is sweet with fruit; dusty grains; some alcohol. Full bodied, creamy and chewy (can it be both of those?), no carbonation. Flavor of dark and ripe fruit; peaches, caramel, some wheat. Strong alcohol, but not overpowering at all. It is very sweet, but the sweetness, alcohol, and (moderate) hops blend and balance very well; more of a sipping drink. Very good!

22 oz bottle shared by jckp64- thanks, John! Pours a clear copper color with a small off-white head. Aroma of butterscotch, tea, wood, cereal, and bready yeast. Flavor of sweet tea, fruit, caramel, leafy hops, wood, and butter. Medium-bodied, with a chewy mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Unusual beer but pretty interesting nonetheless.
