Serving: 22 oz. bottle from State Line Liquors. It pours a cloudy, brownish oranged with no head. The nose is a potent mix of clove, spice, and cider. The flavor has slight raisin, tobacco, spiced bread, and a lot of sweetness. Very viscous in texture. Full bodied with lower carbonation and a sweet finish. Good in small does, it becomes a little sweet and cloying as you drink an entire pint of the stuff. Definitely more dessert like fare.

Gold pour, off white head. Aroma has lots of brown sugar, syrup, light oxidation(bottle was 3 years old), some golden raisins. Flavor is sweet, raisiny, brown sugar, honey. Interesting.

I often ask wine sommeliers to give me a wine that a beer lover would like. They always fail. So disappointing... Anyhow, I do love some dessert wines such as Ports and Sherries, and recently, Banjuls. DuClaw Misery is a beer for dessert wine lovers. Yes, it is sweet, but very pleasantly so. A perfect after-dinner drink.

In short: A terrible mess of what appears to be a wheat wine.
How: Bottle 22oz. Consumed approximately 6 months after purchase. Bottle from my BA trading buddy, I forgive you Heath!
The look: Clear golden amber body topped by a small beige ring of foam
In long: Nose is sweet malts, sweat, boiled vegetables. Taste is gross. Oily uber-sweet cereals, boiled cabbage and other vegetables, garbage juice, sweet grapes, sweaty socks, rotten bananas puree, chich peas . This is a terrible terrible beer. I probably drank about 4oz just so I could enter this trash rating and then drained pour the rest of the bomber. Awful. I don’t know if Misery loves Duclaw Beer Company but I hate Duclaw Beer Company Misery.

Bottle from a great trader! Pours a near clear golden amber with a white head that dissipates nearly completely. Aroma is sweet with wheat, grain and some backing caramel. Flavor is similarly sweet with grains and caramel and has a bit of light fruit underlying.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Drake (5232) - Charlottesville, Virginia, USA - FEB 14, 2012
Bomber from the old Whole Foods Market Charlottesville, meaning I’ve had this one at least 9 months. Pours a hazy orange color with a thin frothy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of toffee, toasted malts and citrus. The taste is toffee, caramel, toasted malts, citrus, berries and a hoppy finish. Medium bodied with faint oxidation notes... more than it should have at this point.

Loads of ripe sweet fruit. Quite sweet, viscous mouthfeel, and oily. Big bready malts, sweet, yeasty, bready sweetness. Pine hoppy finish, medium bitterness, quite boozy. Rough around the edges, would benefit from some age.

22 oz bomber-Clear orange pour w/a moderate white head & good lacing. Had a bit of hop bite up front, followed by some sweetness, some malt, a little light fruit. This was pretty good, had quite a kick, & a lot more hop than your typical Wheat Wine, which is what this brew really is. As Ratebeer does not recognize this style, which is a pet peeve of mine, it gets lumped in with the Barley Wine’s....this is in no way a Barley Wine,
