Draft at Arundel Mills - Didn’t like this one very much. Expected a very drinkable red, but the taste really was off. Color / appearance was good and inviting. Not recommended, but maybe this was a bad batch.

On sampler tray at BWI. Plain brown color, off white head, decent lacing. Aroma of caramel. Taste is slightly sweet, slightly hoppy, with a bit of cocoa in the finish. Drinkable.

On tap @ DuClaw Fells Point. Clear deep amber with an off white head. Biscuit, bready aroma with some nuttiness. Sweet malt base with touches of bitter and sour. Medium body. Pretty close to a brown, but good none the less.

Aroma: Mostly got caramel in the nose, some bread
Appearance: Clear copper/caramel color, beige head
Flavor: Caramel and toasty malts and a light hoppiness as well
Palate: Medium body, decent mouthfeel
Overall Impression:
This is a pretty decent amber. Overall it is a decent beer, but not outstanding beer. Could use more complexity, but its a decent drinkable brew.

Draft pours garnet in color with a a slight creamy head. Bread and slight glassiness in the aroma. Slightly thin body with a nice bit of flavor. A bit sweet and some caramel and little bitterness in the beginning comes through.

Tap at Arundel Mills in Mar 2008: Transparent amber copper with a wispy-lacing off-white head. Semi-sweet caramely malty nose has some toasted nutty notes. Body starts mildly sweet and toasty malty with a drier, more bitter finish. A decent amber ale and pretty true to style.
