COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Gourmet chocolate raspberry coffee is used in the brewing process to achieve this unique flavor and aroma. With a rich dark color this medium bodied stout finishes fairly dry with subtle hints of chocolate, coffee and raspberry flavors.

Strong chocolate malt smell. Maybe a hint of fruit on the nose but cocoa dominates the experience. Sharp bitter cocoa flavor with slight lingering raspberry. Pretty quick body with not a ton of complexity. lacks a large punch. Not too bad. Smooth chocolate flavors. Raspberry is nice and not overpowering.

Kind of looks like a A&W root beer. I can smell the aroma a mile away. Think on the palate. but taste good though. well balanced not too bitter

Dark dark brown with lacy rimming beige head; aroma is my sweet; flav is rich upfront with peanutty notes; feels light to medium with some fizz; finishes sweet and tangy

From 12oz bottle. Pours dark with slight tan head. Raspberry does dominate the aroma and aftertaste. Hard pressed to find any chocolate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours the deepest ruby, almost opaque, with a suds head that leaves light lacing. The nose is of roasts and bittersweet chocolates. Flavors of dry roasted coffee, bitter chocolates and hints at raspberry essence. The finish is of coffee. I can’t see how this is labeled a "fruit beer" instead of a stout, so I will assume a miscategorization. The medium-full body and nice roasted coffee palate make for a decent fruity, dry stout here. Nice.

Bottle to glass. Pours a deep brown almost black color with a thin tan head. Aroma is chocolate, raspberry, burnt malts, roasted coffee. Flavor is mostly burnt malts and light chocolate, not much fruity character. Medium body with a lingering burnt bitterness. Interesting. Nothing special.

Bottled December 26, 2013.
Appearance: In the glass the body appears a deep opaque chestnut, but through the light I can see garnet edges, but not through the center. A short tan head sits on top.
Aroma: Initially I get a prominent roasted coffee aroma with a backing of chocolate and a hint of sweet artificial raspberry. As it warms the aroma exhibits a sort of stale presence, it reminds me of something that I can’t put my finger on. Maybe 4 months is too long for this to be on the shelf? If so it should be draft only.
Taste: The flavor isn’t very sweet like I’d imagined, hints of coffee with sort of stale malts underlying it. The finish shows a little chocolate and a hint of raspberry. Not as whacky as I’d imagined. This would likely be better fresher.
Palate: Light-medium bodied, moderately carbonated.
Overall: Nice try, but if your beer can’t handle a 4 month shelf life and doesn’t move fast enough then it should probably be tap only. I may revisit this next year, but only if I feel intrigued enough to.

Pours out almost black with a small off white head. Aroma is of chocolate, raspberry, light medium roast coffee. Taste is light chocolate, raspberry puree, medium roast coffee, some light bitterness, mild artificial sweetness creeping in, I know it’s only 4ish percent but the body is thinner than I would have liked.
