COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Gourmet chocolate raspberry coffee is used in the brewing process to achieve this unique flavor and aroma. With a rich dark color this medium bodied stout finishes fairly dry with subtle hints of chocolate, coffee and raspberry flavors.

Dark brown colour. Coffee leads the aroma with raspberry and chocolate nuances. Medium body. Smooth. Milk chocolate sweetness with light raspberry and mild background coffee. It’s only those three elements, really, but they are well-structured. However, as a dessert beer it could probably use a bit more heft.

Clear mahogany body. Aroma is predominantly raspberry, but also has some milk chocolate. Taste is raspberry up front, but light coffee moves in on the tongue to share the spotlight. Not too sweet, which is always a concern with a beer like this one.

on tap-pours a creamy light brown head and black color with red tint. Aroma is cocoa powder first then dark chocolate and raspberry (Kathy gets the raspberry first). Taste is dark chocolate, candied raspberry, malty with a secondary/mild hops backbone. OK carbonation. Occasional. 3.0 On nitro-roastier, creamier. 3.2

Very good beer! The aroma is of raspberries and Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee. Also a bit acrid with chocolate notes. Pours thick and black. No light's gonna make it past this pint glass. In fact, WAIT, the Sun just got sucked into my glass. That's no eclipse outside, folks. Sorry about the "Lights Out." Blame DuClaw. Huge creamy well-tanned head. Mostly lasting with excellent, thick lacing. The flavor is of raspberries and espresso with blasts of bittersweet chocolate and buttermilk up front. Very well- balanced with plenty of bitter and pungent hops on the backside. Full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Medium-length, bitter, astringent, dry finish. Very nice dessert beer!

UPDATED: APR 28, 2011 Tap at Arundel Mills in Mar 2008: Pours an opaque black with dark brown edges and a frothy creamy dark tan head. Aroma of sweet, smoky dark malts and a touch of milk chocolate and grain. Body starts lightly caramely sweet, quickly drying out before an earthy smoky lingering finish. I didn’t taste much raspberry flavor, but pretty good nonetheless.

22oz bottle sampled on 4/28/11: Pours a barely transparent deep mahogany with ruby hues and a thin, wispy-lacing beige head. Has a sweet light caramel and fruity raspberry nose with some dark chocolate and roasty coffee. Starts with average fullness and light malty sweetness with good sugary raspberry sweetness and a smooth roasted malty finish. An enjoyable and complex, yet sessionable.

Bomber from State Line. Pours mahogany with deep ruby edges through direct light and an overall jet black look from afar. Minimal head. Nose is roasty black patent malt, chocoff, walnut. Tastes malty, with a pretty hefty natural raspberry flavor, cacao, mild coffee. More raspberry in the flavor than the nose, and the converse for the coffee. This one was a nice finisher on a 100 degree suburban Philadelphia day.

Tap. Pours clear black with a medium, fizzy off-white head, short retention with good lacing. Aroma is cherry, chocolate, and coffee with light prune notes, and faint licorice. Flavor is heavy malt, dark chocolate and cherry, coffee and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation with low warmth.
