COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Gourmet chocolate raspberry coffee is used in the brewing process to achieve this unique flavor and aroma. With a rich dark color this medium bodied stout finishes fairly dry with subtle hints of chocolate, coffee and raspberry flavors.

On tap at Bowie location. This is definitely a dessert beer. Poured out inky black, with red highlights. Sticky mocha colored head. Aromas are of chocolate, coffee beans, and raspberries. Flavors are of roasted malts, espresso beans, raspberries, and earthy hops in the background. Very slick mouthfeel, but thin body. Raspberries overpower most everything else. Decent enough beer, but too sweet for my liking.

Draught: Poured a black with a light brown thin head. Aroma was light to none existent. The taste was strong dark chocolate with light hints of fruit. Not as much fruit as I would have thought from the description, but alright brew overall.

Pour was black with a thin tan head that dissipated quickly on both pours. The aroma was chocolate, roast, coffee, and raspberry. The flavor followed, nothing really surprising about this other than the fact that the raspberry wasn’t way overdone and the chocolate came across like a cocoa powder in the flavor. Mouthtfeel was only moderate for the style, carbonation a tad weak if anything. Not a bad variant of what it intended to be, just not all that great of a beer to go to. Not sure why I bought it.

Deep, opaque chocolate brown color. Aroma is of coffy with raspberries than chocolate with raspberries, but there's definitely some chocolate character in there, too. Another float-worthy beer from DuClaw (the Fantome being the other one I've tried). There's not a lot to it, but it's a nice dessert.

Draft from the brew pub. Raspberry stout. Good fruit flavor. Nice base stout. Smooth and easy. Too much fruit and not enough coffee. Not well integrated.

Only had a small sample of this from a growler but it seemed a little thin bodied for the style.

Glass from DuClaw: Very dark brown color with a healthy head. Scent of nuts, and coffee. Taste matches. Was expecting a big raspberry supprise.

651mL. Pours a clear lighter brune with a very light beige head. Doesn’t look like stout. Small retention and modest lace. Nose is cheap raspberry chocolates with small coffee. Something very odd comes into play in the nose like old grape jelly and the Short’s infecting bacteria as found in PB&J and Key Lime Pie. Taste is wildly thin almost straight water with dirt. Palate is dirty and watery. Extremely thin. Not good. Overall, comes across as worse than grape Perrier. Perhaps grape Perrier with dirt added.
