3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 jvmiller (558) - Bel Air, USA - FEB 22, 2009
This one reminded me of how much I hate chocolate and raspberry together. That said, it delivered on the flavor. It tasted just like a chocolate raspberry cake. Not very bitter or roasted, smooth. Almost a tad watery, flavor does not persist.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 BrotherJason (25) - Washington DC, USA - MAY 30, 2012
Aroma dominated by raspberry over dark roasted malt. Medium feel for a stout. A little bitter and savory, a touch sweet. Finishes dry with light bitterness. Easy to drink!

Bottle shared inDrammen. Dark maroon color, small tan head. Aroma of chocolate covered fruit, very nice. Taste is similar, but very light body not bad.

Pours a fair black with a bubbly cocoa head. Aroma is of chocolate, roasted malts and raspberry. Pretty much the same taste, fairly carbonated. Surprisingly just the right amount of raspberry.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Elwood (1967) - Leesburg, Virginia, USA - APR 15, 2012
Serving: 22 oz. bottle from State Line Liquors. It pours a murky brown. The nose is all raspberries. The flavor is more dark mild or porter than stout. The raspberry is very forward with slight earth notes and a bit of cocoa powder. The finish is dry and chalky. Lighter in body than I was expecting, but very drinkable. A nice dessert beer.

Bottle thanks to a generous trader. Pours a a clear dark brown with a brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of chocolate with some faint raspberry and backing roast and dark grain. Flavor starts with a good amount of chocolate with some raspberry and backing dark grain.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 mnoud (92) - Martinsburg, West Virginia, USA - MAR 1, 2012
2012.03.01 - On tap at Always Ron's in tulip glass. Pours dark. Pretty much what it says on the box, chocolate raspberry stout. The raspberry is dialed in pretty well, not too much and not too little. Mouthfeel is not too heavy, a bit of alcohol bite. Not bad.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 SpringsLicker (2546) - Tennessee, USA - FEB 20, 2012
Pours very dark, almost opaque but not quite; just a hint of garnet coming through the edges under strong light. Thin scum of foam for a head that quickly reserves itself to the glass edges.
The aroma is like berry scented bath soap. Berry-like, yet artificial in some way.
The flavor is a weak chocolate cherry kind of affair. It doesn’t deliver what was hinted at in the aroma.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 BeerandBlues2 (6107) - Lone Tree, Colorado, USA - FEB 8, 2012
Tap. Pours clear black with a medium, fizzy off-white head, short retention with good lacing. Aroma is cherry, chocolate, and coffee with light prune notes, and faint licorice. Flavor is heavy malt, dark chocolate and cherry, coffee and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation with low warmth.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Dogbrick (4843) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JAN 8, 2012
This beer is a very dark brown color with a medium thin off-white head that evaporates steadily. Short strings of lacing on the glass. The aroma is berry-forward with a bit of chocolate in the background. Light body with a raspberry character and chocolate malt backbone, as well as a bit of mild coffee. The finish is tart with a raspberry aftertaste. Decent overall.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 obguthr (2576) - Poquoson, Virginia, USA - NOV 27, 2011
Dark chocolate and raspberry nose, moderate strength. Clear mahogany, medium tan head, good lacing. Thin mouthfeel, too thin for a stout. Heavy on the raspberry with bark underneath and in the finish. While any fruit additions would make this a fruit beer instead of a stout, this would still be a fruit beer as it bears little resemblance to a stout. Was hoping for a greater chocolate presence and more body. I like Duclaw, but not this beer so much.
