From the Tap, DuClaw Berwery, Baltimore MD, As a person who hates coffee, this beer was Very Good. Because of my dislike for coffee stouts and porter tend to fall of my beer options.... but wne i saw a chocolate Raspberry beer had to try and i must say much better then i would have guessed.

Light reddish black. Aroma had light cherries and chocolate. The stout was a little sweet and had some of the chocolate but not much to hold on to. I could drink more but would pass of better or new options were given. Tap

Quite dry & definitely raspberry. Average dark pour w/ a thin head & little lacing. The aroma has an enticing blend of raspberry & chocolate. The flavor is bitter for a stout w/ the raspberry kicking in at the finish. Different for a stout but Iím not sure Iím a fan!

Bottle. Pours a flat dark brown body with a frothy one inch brown head that left some sparce lacing. The nose is pretty delicious, lots of raspberry, chocolate, roast, and some light coffee. The flavor is not quite as intense as the aroma suggested, which I think is a good thing. Thereís still a decent amount of raspberry, but itís not over the top. This leaves entry of chocolate and roast to show through. Light to medium bodied with soft fizzy carbonation. Pretty decent beer, wouldnít want to have a six pack in a sitting, but one is pretty good.

UPDATED: JUN 16, 2015 12 oz bottle; bottled on 29 Dec. 2014. Sweet chocolate and raspberry aroma, with faint dark malt and no sign of coffee. Flavor: Quite a bit of raspberry and some chocolate but not so much as to be objectionable or to entirely mask the dark malts, and not as much raspberry as the aroma suggests. The raspberry builds into the finish, then fades a bit as dark roasted grains with hints of dark chocolate and coffee eventually come to the fore in the aftertaste. Good bitter-sweet mix.

Had this last night for the first time. It was on tap at a local bar/grill. I immediately loved it from the 1st sip! It was dark with great aroma. The chocolate flavor is similar to the DuClaw Sweet Baby Jesus but it was sweeter and not as much bite. The raspberry was a nice smooth complement. There was no after taste like you sometimes get with a more bitter stout. It was smooth like theShock Top Shockolate. I highly recommend!

Pours deep and dark with a bit of garnet, and smallish mocha that reduces quickly to skim. Great aroma, chocolate and raspberries, but on the palate, the ashy taste of coffee grounds is the immediate impression. After five minutes or so, the berries fight back, though not enough to establish sweetness. Finish is bitter, not distressingly so, but more coffee dregs. As occasionally happens with this brewery, this seems like a good concept haphazardly executed. Iím fine with one, but Iím not going for a second.

bottled - tastes like a chocolate and raspberry flavored stout! Super dark color. Could be a bit sweeter.

12 ounce bottle poured into a brandy snifter. Pours a clear brown with a gaseous head of beige foam. The aroma has ashy, roasty, dry coffee. The taste is initially ashy bitterness, but as the flavor a settle on the tongue, I am able to taste more of the berry sweetness. Lighter bodied stout. Medium carbonation.

This is one big black looken beer, had it at bowsers. Decent head fades rapidly. Cant taste any raspberry in this. The coffee is big and in there but to call this a fruit beer is misleading. Just a really good coffee flavored stout. Seems like more than the 4% listed here. Smell is big coffee aroma. Has lots of personality from beginning to end. But, fer sure its not a fruit beer. Just a simple dry coffee stout.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is raspberry, roast, and chocolate. Medium mouth nice roast, chocolate covered raspberries, very sweet, light bitterness in finish. Good.
