COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"Aged for two months in whiskey barrels, this classic, creamy Russian imperial stout antes up with aromas of charred oak and vanilla, before doubling down with a hearty, full body and smooth, roasted malt flavor. Though well balanced and highly drinkable, play the odds, respect the game, and remember...all bets are final."

I enjoyed this more than the nitrous pour with coffee. Nice standard thick and heavy IS with a good bit of whiskey flavor and alcohol imbued.

Pours unclear dark coffee with a decent caramel head, not much lacing. The aroma is my favorite part, brings roasted malts, oats, and some sweet notes, not quite chocolate more of the whiskey barrel and vanilla. The body is light for the style, thin. The flavors bring toasted malt notes and some bitterness.

Bottle 750ml.

Clear dark brown colour with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, chocolate, caramel, vanilla, light alcohol - whisky. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and light bitter with a average to long duration, coconut, chocolate. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120202]

Pailhead (3436) - Plymouth, Michigan, USA - MAR 3, 2012
Bottle: The aroma consists of dark chocolate, vanilla, light dark fruit, faint oak, and alcohol. It pours a dark brown, virtually black, with a thin brown film for a head. The flavor starts with chocolate and dark fruits. The finish has vanilla and light whiskey. Medium-full bodied with mild carbonation and a somewhat oily mouthfeel. Overall, a solid BA Imperial Stout with only subtle whiskey notes.

Bottle at a recent tasting... Poured near black with a tan head. Typical roasty, chocolatey stout with hints of whiskey and barrel characters. Notes of vanilla, cookie dough sweetness and dark fruits. Solid.

(22oz bottle) Pours thick and black with a thin brown head. Aroma has strong whiskey and wood character, notes of coffee, and caramelized sugar. Flavor has a lot of whiskey, coffee; notes of licorice, nuts, wood. Very sweet malt and bitter roasted character. Full bodied. I’m not a big fan of the whiskey flavor, but that’s just my preference.
