3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Beerdogg (9) - Edgewood, USA - MAR 24, 2003 does not count
Excellent beer. Between this one and the Fantome, it is hard to decide which beer I enjoy the most. I enjoy the sweetness of this beer. It blends well with the hops. The molasses has kicked it up a notch and I enjoy it so. My only bad comment is that I feel that it should become a regular beer instead of a seasonal. But that's just my opinon. Keep up the good work Jim.

On tap in Bel Air. Poured a medium caramel color with tiny everlasting tan head. Caramel, biscuit, fig/date fruitiness. flavor is a light bitterness, you really get the bread at the end. Very strong alcohol content. Couldn’t have much more that 2 or 3.

On sampler tray at BWI. Plain brown color, thick tan head, massive lacing. Aroma of malt, vanilla, subtle cocoa. Taste had vanilla, nutmeg, butterscotch. Fuller body than other Du Claw offerings. Good base for barrel aging, I think.
