COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Be ashamed ... be VERY ashamed. Fall on your knees and welcome our newest ale - REPENT! Be there on Thursday, September 1st* for the introduction of our special new "Belgian Pent." This strong ale starts off sweet, with fruity nuances and hints of caramel and toffee, and finishes smooth with a definite alcohol presence. But look out - its 14.6% alcohol content is bound to make you beg for forgiveness!

Thanks to anggrec for this. Pours a murky brown with a thin head. The aroma is very nice, fruit, caramel, some sugar. The flavor has the caramel and fruit and a much sweeter sugar presence. This one is not for the hop heads out there. It has a sticky mouth feel and a long lasting after taste.

Bottle. Pours dark red and thin, with a thin head. But the aroma is your fort warning. Rich with cooked sugar and alcohol, I’m already afraid. This drinks with rich, ripe, dark fruit .... Clearly high gravity, and quite possibly flammable. (#4715, 8/2/2012)

Dark apricot color with a dense inch of off-white head. Aroma is ripe stonefruits and caramel. Taste is the same, and super-rich, with some vanilla notes and very high residual sweetness, and a tangy, grapey tannic bitterness in the finish. Reminds me of a dialed-down Colossus, so I regret not buying a second bottle, but it is overly sweet and hard to drink $11/22oz

Tap in a plastic cup (shame). Toasted chestnut colored pour. Aroma is sweet tea, white grape juice and mustard seed? Taste is agave nectar, golden brown sugar, and dry white toast. The huge ABV is completely hidden. Pretty impressive disguise of the booze content. Medium palate. I'm a fan. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Apple, banana, currant, and fig nose, not strong. Cloudy rust, thin head. Full body, viscous.Syrupy sweet flavor of cherries, currants, dates, and peaches. Finishes warm with southern comfort and apple cores. Curious beer with intriguing complexities. I really want to like it, but the sweetness is beyond the pale.

This poured a lighter brown coolor with no head at all. Aroma was alcohol, toffee, dark fruits and syrupy malt extract. Flavor was straight alcohol and sugar water with just a tiny bit of malt added. By far the sweetest beer ive ever hide. Barely drinkable even in small doses.

On draft sampler. The scent is sweet and woody, like a quality cigar. The taste is dark fruit, sweet, a little syrupy, and warming - of course at 14% abv. I actually quite like the taste, but it certainly isn't for everyone. Another quality offer from DuClaw. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Torpedo bottle. I think this is first beer tried from this company. Full frothy head. Brownish color. Aroma is caramel, dark fruit, toffee, yeast. Wow, medium heavy sweet. Alcohol warms you. Lots flavors in this one. Pretty darn sweet with belgium candy sugars and sweet dark fruit. Complex.

Caramel and toffee with a little whiff of alcohol aromas. Sweet toffee and caramel flavors. Overall delicious.

UPDATED: JUN 6, 2012
Location: Draft at Arundal Mills Brewpub, 5/28/12

Aroma: Nose of fruit, candied sugar, malts, earth, and booze
Appearance: Pours amber in color, clear, with a small head and no lace
Flavor: Taste is sweet and boozy, similar to the nose component wise
Palate: The body is fullish, with quite a lot of heat from the 14%
Overall Impression: This one is not exactly easy drinking, but still, for 14%, this one does a decent job of hiding the booze enough to make it still drink like a beer.
