4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
A pretty solid Bourbon aged stout, has chocolate and espresso notes. A little bit of a fake chocolate taste but not too bad.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Dark tan head, on a very dense black body. Bourbon, vanilla, and dark chocolate with slight roast in the aroma. Flavor is sweet, but not unexpected for what it is, slight fig, dark chocolate, vanilla and big on the bourbon. Medium to thicker body.

4.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Pours a opaque black with a small tan head. Aroma is straight malt with little hint of brown sugar from the malt. Taste is sweet and malty. Goes down smooth and leaves a clean after taste. Not too impressed but still a good beer.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle shared by Jeff. Aroma is cocoa, oak, vanilla and some toffee. Pours deep brown with a nice hazy khakis head. Taste is roast espresso, vanilla, and a heavy oak. Finishes with just a hint of roast coffee and licorice. Very nice oak-aged stout. Would love to try some of the variants.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Very dark pour with a thin head. Roasted malt really comes through and delivers coffee and chocolate flavors. The bourbon flavors come out in the sweet carmel finish. A big beer at 11.5 ABV. This is one of the better DuClaw beers I’ve tried.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Definitely the night cap. Thick and meaty, this carries its whiskey barrel roots right up front in every aspect. The aroma is quite subtle, actually, hinting only at a rich, warm beer. And this drinks with an exquisitely well balanced character ... the oak-laden whiskey character is so finely interlaced with the warm, chocolatey beer that you’ll want to wish that everyone who tries this can do it so well. Very, very good! (#5344, 11/24/2013)
