COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Patience. Justified. A full-bodied, Single Barrel Bourbon-aged Imperial Stout with rich aromas of espresso and dark chocolate, and smooth roasted malt flavor. Aged for 6 months inside charred Kentucky white oak bourbon barrels to add the natural vanilla and caramelized sugar flavors of the bourbon soaked wood to the beer. Each bottle run is drawn from a single barrel, making each batch a unique drinking experience.

Shared by Dak. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma of bourbon, vanilla and fudge. Taste is mostly sweet. Medium bodied and sticky. Really good. One of the most surprisingly liked beers of the tasting.

22 oz. bottle. Mine says 9% ABV. Date in barrel: 03/11/11. Date out of barrel: 09/19/11. Barrel #12 of 20. A jet-black pour with a thick chestnut/mocha head. A rich aroma of dark chocolate, roasted coffee, bourbon, vanilla, caramel, a charred woodsiness, potting soil, molasses, and some smoke. Goes down relatively medium-bodied and pretty sticky. Incredibly sweet taste-wise. The flavor starts with lots of caramel, chocolate, brown sugar, dark fruits (raisins, plums, & blackberries), molasses, and vanilla. Some bittering roasted coffee, smoke, and some charred earthy qualities are present at the end. Warming alcohol is present from start to finish. WAY too syrupy sweet for my taste. Almost medicinal.

Pours unclear dark coffee brown with a smaller biege head and no lacing. The aroma brings the booze from the barrels and some sweet brown sugar, vanilla, and slight coconut notes. The flavor is sweeter than normal, but I like that. There are some coffee notes as well on a rich but cleaner body. Delicious overall.

Bottle. Out of barrel date 9/19/11 (barrel 4 of 20). Appearance: typical motor oil black, with nice mocha head quickly dissipating. Aroma: strong chocolate, bourbon, vanilla, licorice, some dark fruit, pretty sweet. Taste: chocolatey vanilla and boozy bourbon throughout, with a syrupy sweet middle pushing too sweet all the way thru the aftertaste. Palate: medium to full body, with very little carbonation. Overall: it's pretty good just a bit too syrupy sweet to me. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Barrel # 13 of 20 In Barrell 3/11/11 Out of barrell 9/19/11. Poured an opaque black with a one finger light brown head that settled to a thick film. A nice bourbon aroma was predominate along with some vanilla and a hint of chocolate. The beer had a thick silky texture and a good bourbon flavor and alcohol warmth right off the bat. There is a good amount of sweetness that comes through pretty quickly with milk chocolate flavor and roasted malt. All the flavors last well into the finish with a nice alcohol bite and good warmth. This ones a sipper to enjoy the bourbon flavor for as long as the bottle can last
