Serum is our version of a Double(Imperial) India Pale Ale. It is aggressively hopped at several stages of the brewing process including a dry hopping that takes place little by little over a 2 week period. With an OG close to 19Plato, this beer is big and hoppy, yet has a strong malt backbone that keeps the huge hop bitterness from being overbearing. Available in VERY limited quantities and only at our pub locations.

Let me start by saying that I am a fan of DuClaw and the beers they make. I had never had a"bad" beer from them. That is, until I tried Serum. I hated this beer. I hated everything about it. I tried to like it. I gave it every chance. I thought maybe it has to be paired with something. Tried it with sweet, tried it with savory, tried it warm, cold... Tastes like your chewing a hop bush. YUK!!!

Pour on tap, hazy orange-yellow pour with white head, aroma brought notes of caramel, toffee, some biscuit into a bit of orange, some jam, hints of pine into a bit of grass and spice. Taste is a mix of grass, spice, earth into caramel, toffee, some orange, grapefruit, finishing fairly bitter, slightly sweet. Not bad.

Draught. Dark yellow hazy apperance, off-white foamy head, floral hops aroma, low carbonation, sweetish hoppy taste with doughy undertones, hint of citrus, medium finish. Not a really very good DIPA.

Pours a hazy orange collor with a sudsy white head. Aroma was nice with citrus hops and some pine. Taste was orange, light grapefruit, bread, and hints of sweet malts. Solid double IPA and better than I was expecting.
