COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Serum is our version of a Double(Imperial) India Pale Ale. It is aggressively hopped at several stages of the brewing process including a dry hopping that takes place little by little over a 2 week period. With an OG close to 19Plato, this beer is big and hoppy, yet has a strong malt backbone that keeps the huge hop bitterness from being overbearing. Available in VERY limited quantities and only at our pub locations.

Bottle. Golden pour with some white bubbles. Some sweetness and hints of spice and herbal hops. Too sweet for an ipa, very malt sugar, has some bittering tones.

Some caramel and lots of pine/citrus hops in the aroma. Flavor starts with a solid caramel base beer, with some bitter hops and drying alcohol finish. Not the best double IPA you can find, but a fine beer.

Aroma - floral, citrus, funk Appearance - amber, clear, minimal head Taste - light bodied, sweet, slightly bitter finish Palate - light carbonation, sticky sweet with pear, citrus, honey notes. Reminds me of 120 without the overwhelming sweetness and ABV punch. Not bad.

A very nice beer. Pours Amber with a thin head. The aroma is malty sweet with a bit of bread and some wood. The flavor has the sweet malt, a bit of wood and a nice bit of bitter hops. No alcohol to be found until you have to get up. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Malty, bready aroma with some flashes of pine resin and orange-grapefruit citrus.Tastes of citrus with a nice sweet malty backbone with a good pine finish as well as a hint of alcohol heat. Medium in body with good carbonation and a nice stickiness, very balanced.

On tap at DuClaw Bel Air.
Appearance: Clear amber body with a creamy white head.
Aroma: Oranges and some grapefruit, hints of caramel.
Taste: Moderately bitter with lots of orange and grapefruit with a touch of pine on the finish. Hints of caramel throughout.
Palate: Medium to thick with light carbonation.
Overall: Decent IIPA, but it’s too citrusy. A bit one-note.

Boutip (4494) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 30, 2013
Bottle: Poured alight amber color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma of bitter earthy hops with dry caramel malt notes. Taste is also dominated by bitter hops notes with limited complexity and some lightly sweet malt backbone. Body is about average with good carbonation. I thought there was too much malt and limited hops presence with a lacks of complexity in the hops profile.
