COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Serum is our version of a Double(Imperial) India Pale Ale. It is aggressively hopped at several stages of the brewing process including a dry hopping that takes place little by little over a 2 week period. With an OG close to 19Plato, this beer is big and hoppy, yet has a strong malt backbone that keeps the huge hop bitterness from being overbearing. Available in VERY limited quantities and only at our pub locations.

Pours orange with a small white head and some lace. Subtle malt aroma. Sweet taste mild bitterness, fruity, caramel. light body sticky finish, not a typical double and far from a palate wrecker.

I'm impressed. A bitter, hoppy double ipa that still remains smooth. Don't think you'll get away with no burn on the palate though...after all, it is 9% ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This was poured into a tulip. The appearance was a glossy/semi-hazy burnt orange color with a slim finger’s worth white foamy head that quickly dissipated leaving some clingy messy lacing. The smell had some sweet apricot roaming over top of some light orange and lemon. Wet fresh grassy underneath rides a light caramel maltiness. The taste took all of those previously mentioned flavors to combine and leave a dry fruity aftertaste and finish. On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Carbonated nicely as a DIPA, the bitterness is there to leave an adequate harshness. Overall, I say this was a pretty good DIPA, nothing over the top, but it fits the style and I like the apricot in it.

Very drinkable 8.3% double IPA. Nothing special, but I would drink it again

Draft at Old Town Pour House in Gaithersburg, MD served in a half-pint glass. Cloudy orange-copper amber color with off white head. Aroma notes of strong grapefruit/pine hops, some tropical notes and caramel malt sweetness. Taste adds more citrus hop fruitiness, resin and light spiciness. Medium-heavy body, low-moderate carbonation, dry, sticky with lingering sweet citrus/pine hop finish. Very hop strong bitter DIPA on draft, solid.

Bottle to pilsner glaas. Cloudy yellow-orange. Small head. Aroma is nondescript, touch of something a little fruity. Taste is pine, ash. Little carbonation. Not great.

Golden pour with a white two finger head lots of lace. Mild hops for a double. Very drinkable and definitely do not taste the 9% alcohol. Good for a hot day to quench your ipa pallet.

Citrusy aroma, flavor much of the same. Not very well balanced as the alcohol really came through.

A pretty good beer. A translucent copper/brown color with minimal head. The aroma is slightly hoppy, slightly fruity with a whiff of alcohol. Up front hoppy taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

on tap. Dark yellow in color with off-white head. Mostly citrusy hoppy aroma. Medium bodied with creamy texture. Moderately bitter with grassy and floral hoppy flavor notes. Not as intense as I expected.

Some citrus and tangerine on the head of this. OK malt backbone, and balance is decent. Good if nothing super original. Tap at BWI brewpub.
