COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Serum is our version of a Double(Imperial) India Pale Ale. It is aggressively hopped at several stages of the brewing process including a dry hopping that takes place little by little over a 2 week period. With an OG close to 19Plato, this beer is big and hoppy, yet has a strong malt backbone that keeps the huge hop bitterness from being overbearing. Available in VERY limited quantities and only at our pub locations.

Cloudy orange pour, off white head. Vegetal notes, caramel malt, sweet hops, citrus aroma. Flavor is very malty with a distinct citrus background and some of the vegetal weirdness.

Location: Draft at Arundal Mills Brewpub, 5/28/12

Aroma: This one has a big grapefruit and grass nose
Appearance: It has a cloudy golden pour, white head, mid plus lace
Flavor: This one tastes light sweet, mid-plus bitter/hoppy
Palate: Medium bodied with a creamy feel, a soft carbonation, and a dry finish
Overall Impression: I thought that this one was a solid, but not top of style DIPA. Another very solid offering from DuClaw, one of many beers from this trip that fit that description.

On tap at Duclaw in BWI. Clear amber pour with a one finger white froth. Big grassy herbals and piney resin in the nose give way to orange peel and sap in the flavor. Big caramel malt and biscuit with a sappy finish. Medium to full body for the style with fine bubbled effervescence and a sticky finish.

Tap. Not as good as I was hoping. Amber with foamy white head and light lacing. Light honey and wine aroma with a hint of biscotti. No prominent flavors the sweet kind of blends with the hops. Medium bodied, very light hop finish.

The draft that came across the bar was a light amber brew with a nice thick head. Well balanced aromas of malt and hops. Medium bodied with flavors leaning heavy on the sweet malty side with a nice hop compliment.

Bottle shared in the GTMW ticket line - Pours amber with a thin ring of off-white head. Sweet malt on the nose, with not much hoppiness. Taste is pretty much the same, with a honey sweetness and a bit of herbal hoppiness. Thinking maybe this bottle wasn’t that fresh. Slick, big body, and little carbonation. A letdown.

Aroma is slightly sweet and citrusy, and of course hops. The appearance is a cloudy coppery color. Taste is slightly acidic and little bit of maltiness and a lot of hops.

From draft @ Bel Air. Nice copper/amber color. Real nice flavor all the way through with a great bitter finish! Another one of the duclaw beers that I love!

This beer is very hoppy but perfectly balanced by malt. For such a high ABV this beer goes down very smooth with almost no alcohol taste, excellent!

Duclaw’s best beer out of their "all the time" selections. Its not even close, this is the exact opposite of what their other "all the time" beers are. Thick, powerful, beautiful appearance both when poured and after consumed "great lace". Super bitter finish, you dont get cheated with this beer.
