Poured from a chilled bottle. Dark brown color, full frothy tan head. Strong peanut smell. Taste like peanut butter chocolate magic. I love it.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: MAR 7, 2014 Poured as a taster - what a crazy beer! There are aromas of roasted peanut butter, slight sweetness, some chocolate and malt. The tastes are peanut right up front, more coffee than chocolate notes on the tongue. I can only imagine delicious ice cream floats with this.
Notes from bottle tasting. Pours a rich dark brown, light tan head, leaves moderate lacing on glass. Still a ton of roasted peanuts on the nose. There are some notes of chocolate on the nose, but it is predominantly peanut. Taste is as above. I think there is a bit more chcoloate than coffee now from bottle pour.

2.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle from Wine Warehouse, Charlottesville. Pours nearly black, somewhat thick, small tan head. Smells of peanut butter, chocolate, and roasted peanuts. Tastes funky... unsweetened chocolate, roasted peanuts, and burnt something. Nice try... this kind of beer can be made well (Southern Tier perhaps?), but this isn’t it.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz. bottle from Total Wine, Chesapeake, VA. Dark brown pour with almost no head. Chocolate and peanut butter are very apparent on the nose with faint floral hops. Coffee and chocolate hit the tongue first but a very distinct peanut butter flavor is very noticeable on the finish. A nicely done, unique porter.

This is a very interesting porter. It has many of the characteristics of a robust porter , but also the better parts of a dessert beer. The aroma is sweet smoke, coffee, cocoa powder, and peanut butter. The peanut butter continues into the flavor but it’s subtle: more of a roasted than a sweet flavor. Chocolate and toffee comes through rather nicely. What flavors are well balanced by a dry finish that you may have come to expect from other robust porters. Overall an excellent twist on this style of beer.

Drank from bottle
Tastes and smells just like it is advertised. Just like a peanut butter cup. Notes of coffee, caramel, and nuts. Love this beer

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Wow! This beer is quite a pleasant surprise. It’s a dark cola-colored brew with a thin, virtually non-existent, beige head. Nose of peanuts, sweet cocoa, and chocolate, but the peanut essence rules and is remarkably prominent and recognizable. The taste is chocolate and peanuts, but not in a way that is overly sweet or cloying--it is not a gimmick flavor, but a real beer flavor. A hit of bitterness at the end really sets it off. Smooth and drinkable, I definitely like this beer and recommend it for someone looking for a beer with an unusual character.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Appearance:deep dark brown with ruby highlights and a short, bubbly tan head. Aroma: smells exactly as advertised--chocolate and peanut butter. Taste: bittersweet dark chocolate, talc, peanut skins, a bit of cashew as well, with a hint of vanilla just underneath. Finish: drier than expected, with the peanut butter lingering the longest, although the dark chocolate holds on as well. Notes: This was not a complex beer, but it was exactly what you’d expect. Good, medium palate and I appreciate that the sweetness--which could have been way too much--was nicely subdued to keep the beer from being cloying. bottle at MokoMandy.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Aroma of fake peanut butter flavoring combined with some chocolare malt. Clean, clear and clearly enhanced. Better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick but the fakeness is annoying.
