COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sweet Baby Jesus Chocolate Peanut Butter Porter is a complex, robust porter. It is jet black in color with a tan, rocky head, full body and creamy, luxurious mouthfeel. Its lightly sweet, malty flavor is accented by strong notes of chocolate, coffee and peanut butter, and balanced by a subtle hop character and moderate 6.5% abv. Sweet Baby Jesus finishes smooth, dry and roasty with notes of chocolate, espresso and peanut butter so tasty, youíll have no choice but to exclaim the name!

Bottle. As thick as youíd expect ... deep and rich. The peanut butter thing doesnít come across that well in beer ... almost off-putting actually. But among the beers Iíve tried that have attempted the peanut butter thing, this is the least gross. The peanut stuff overwhelms both the initial whiff and the first taste ... but if you set it aside, this ainít a bad porter. But sheesh, I wish they hadnít done the peanuts. (#5323, 11/12/2013)

From a 12oz bottle. Dark color little head, smells and tastes great like chocolate and cherries.

Tap. Pours dark brown with creamy tan head. Aroma is chocolate, roasted malts, peanut butter, some dark fruit and faint floral notes. Flavor is a good mix of dry, roast notes and milk chocolate sweetness with some supporting peanut butter and dark fruit esters; dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

Tap at the brewery. Pours clear black with dark brown highlights, a medium, creamy tan head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is peanut butter, chocolate and roast malt, earthy hops and dates. Flavor is dark malt dominant with peanut butter, light hops and bitterness with a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

Bought a six pack at quick six. This is a very tasty porter. Pours dark brown with small head. Sweet chocolate smell and taste. Mild hop finish provides a nice balance.

A fairly glossy porter with a slight, mild peanut butter quality in the aroma and taste. It pours dark brown with a quick fading head. The aroma is a mild malt, maybe a little coffee, and some slight peanut butter. That slight peanut butter presence is up front in the flavor, too. There isnít much of anything on the back end. Itís as though someone dropped a little bit of Capín Crunch into a very average porter. Maybe not a bad idea if you need to liven up an average porter. But a better idea would be to just have a better porter instead.

Purchased a six pack from the Beer Store in Southampton. Seems really thin for a porter, but has a nice roasty aroma. Taste is chocolate with a dry nutty taste from the peanut butter. While it did not make me stand up and exclaim, "Sweet baby Jesus!", it was not a bad porter. Iíll enjoy the rest of this sixer, but probably wonít buy again.

Via trade with Bmart. This was an extra. While Iím not a huge fan of PB, I really liked this. The aroma is mainly chocolate up front, with some peanut butter to be sure, some roast. The appearance is jet black, tan head. Th flavor is chocolate, peanut butter, light roast, the peanut butter being subtle enough to be enjoyable. The finish is sweet, chcolatey, piney, and a sort of mettalic hop, not sure why. Nice medium/thick body. Good overall.

11/1/13. Split a $41.99 case 3 ways of this with Dan and Brian. Had the first bottle in work, split a bottle with Troy and Yura. Have a bottle to my dad and shared 1 with Barry also Poured dark brown almost black with minimal head which quickly disappears. Smell is crazy!!!Smells like a Reeseís PB cup. Taste is exactly what youíd expect chocolate and peanut butter although the PB taste is faint but definitely there. Itís a little thin for a porter. Drinking 1 would be the limit. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle shared by StFun @ Darkness Day! Thanks Josh.Pours brown with tons of peanut butter on the nose. Flavor is straight up peanut butter, so awesome. Really a great flavor, mixes well with the roasted malts and chocolate notes. Terrific.
