3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle, 12oz. A lightly unclear dark brown beer topped by a dark beige head. The aroma is very peanut-ish, with mashed bananas in the back. A faint chocolate and coffee touch blends in. Feels pretty sweaty actually. The flavor is chocolatey and peanut buttery, with some banana. Roasted malts too. Full body, pleasant carbonation. Lasting finish. Sure a weird one, but fun to taste. Can’t imagine I will be able to drink a bottle on my own. 140228

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
A little disappointed. Pours a dark brown with foamy head. At first, I loved the nose...some roasted malt, peanut butter. But the more I smelled of it, the less I liked it. Taste seems artificial to me - yes, some peanut bitter, licorice and bitterness on the finish, but I also got a lingering, soapy aftertaste. Meh.

4.2 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle poured into pint glass. Pours a nice 1/2 finger tan head, dark brown body. The smell was inviting! Smelt like Cocoa Puffs with Peanut butter! The taste was espresso, strong! Also a slight nuttiness and some chocolate. Slick, smooth palate. This has a great aroma, wish to have more PB in taste!

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
From notes, consumed on 4/15/13. Bottle poured into a tulip pint glass. Pours dark brownish black with a finger of off-white head. Aromas of peanuts, peanut butter, chocolate. Tasting notes of bitter chocolate, peanut butter caramel, artificial/chemical flavors. Enjoyed this the first one or two times I had it but after that I’ve been picking up more of the artificial flavors. Medium-light body with a semi-dry finish.

3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle thanks to soonerchamps. Pours dark brown with a thin head that fades fairly quickly. Aroma is awesome. Great balance of peanut butter, coffee, and chocolate. Taste isn’t as good as the aroma but still really good. The roast and coffee is stronger than the nuttiness and chocolate. Medium body but the mouthfeel doesn’t really bring anything. Dry, roasty finish. Overall, awesome aroma but there are some flaws here. I’d love to drink this again though just for the aroma.

3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz bottle into a tulip glass. Pours a nearly black that lets through a little light. Two fingers of tight tan foam that lasts forever. Crazy lacing. Nose is chocolate and very pronounced salty peanut butter. Smells spot on like a Reese’s. Taste is briefly sweet chocolate and salty peanut butter....then some roasty malts and a light bitterness come in before being washed away. A little awkward and just leaves me wanting more chocolate. Salty aftertaste. Light bodied and thin but it is a porter. Overall it’s a really interesting beer with an excellent nose that smells exactly like a chocolate peanut butter cup, but the porter qualities seem to detract from that flavor profile.
