Sweet Baby Jesus Chocolate Peanut Butter Porter is a complex, robust porter. It is jet black in color with a tan, rocky head, full body and creamy, luxurious mouthfeel. Its lightly sweet, malty flavor is accented by strong notes of chocolate, coffee and peanut butter, and balanced by a subtle hop character and moderate 6.5% abv. Sweet Baby Jesus finishes smooth, dry and roasty with notes of chocolate, espresso and peanut butter so tasty, you’ll have no choice but to exclaim the name!

Dark black, light edges. Not pitch black. the 2 finger head fades to a 1 finger brown head with some tight lacing and it sticks around for a while (over 10 minutes). nice resilient head. The smells fantastic. Sweet chocolate, marshmallow and walnuts with nice peanut butter taste. a faint oak and raisin on the nose as well. Very creamy mouthfeel. sweet chocolate. I like the mild bitterness, maybe would be nice if it was slightly sweeter. nutty finish. peanut butter is very integrated.

Pours dark brown and thick. Nice creamy looking head. Aroma is heavy on espresso and chocolaty peanut buttery. Taste is sweet, almost cloying at first. There is a definite oily nut flavor accompanied by dark fruity undertones with a very smoky finish. Hoped for a fuller mouth feel from the appearance, although it is very smooth and easy to drink. Overall it is very close to delicious, but not quite there. Sidenote: my wife loves this.

shared smalle bottle by a friend, dark brown colour with a tanned head, strong peanuts at front, peanut oil, rye, roasted malts, chocolate, crisp mouthfeel, i just can’t get behind that peanut butter taste, just horrible. can’t think about it to drink this one by myself

Pours a dark brown color with a tan head and good retention. The aroma is peanut butter and toffee. The taste is similar with lots of peanuts, peanut butter, and toffee all in a base that features chocolate and a hint of hazelnuts. Not too sweet and nearly perfectly balanced. Over all one of the best!!

Pours black in the glass. Awesome aroma of Reese’s Peanut Butter cups. Creamy on the palate. Nutty peanut flavor, mixed with coffee and cocoa. Overall, a solid brew!

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2015 shared by bastarda at oldmanriver’s potluck post-Nikolaus tasting 12/2014. Diluted Snickers and pindakaas give way to a flat sweet porter with a hoppy, metallic edge. Butter is slightly caramelised, suspected rancid before. Not sure what is underneath this artificial goodness, maybe a basic brewing kit porter? Confidently exploring the edge of what craft can and needs to do in an increasingly competitive market before toppling into its own pastiche.

UPDATED: APR 19, 2015 Bottle. Nice notes of roast, chocolate malts and nuts. Body was a bit thin for my liking, but the brew was solid overall. Nice dry and sweet finish. Not bad.

Dark malts, very little aroma.... taste is super weak, where is the chocolate? Maybe a bad bottle?
