COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sweet Baby Jesus Chocolate Peanut Butter Porter is a complex, robust porter. It is jet black in color with a tan, rocky head, full body and creamy, luxurious mouthfeel. Its lightly sweet, malty flavor is accented by strong notes of chocolate, coffee and peanut butter, and balanced by a subtle hop character and moderate 6.5% abv. Sweet Baby Jesus finishes smooth, dry and roasty with notes of chocolate, espresso and peanut butter so tasty, youíll have no choice but to exclaim the name!

Ok. This may be a sweet beer, but I like these. Chocolate and banana taste.

Tried on draft and in a bottle: This is tough, because itís a little all over the board for me. Iíve tried it sometimes and been greeted by a liquid Peanut Butter Cup, other times itís full of a thick chocolate flavor. When itís great, itís a blend of chocolate with a nice Peanut buttery finish that leaves a bitter espresso bite... Great beer...just hard to rate for me.

It pours black with a brown head and plenty of lacing. It has a strong aroma of peanut butter with roasted malts and nuts. It is fairly highly carbonated with peanut butter, roasted malts, some coffee, and hints of floral hops. It does have a creamy texture, but the high carbonation breaks it up some. It does have a bitter coffee kick on the palate.

Bottle: The aroma is huge peanut butter cookies and light-moderate chocolate. It pours a dark brown with some orange highlights. It has a small beige head that fades to a thin film outlined by a slightly thicker ring. There is sporadic thin webbing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with light-moderate dark chocolate. There is some faint roasted malt and coffee in the middle that quickly gets dominated by a peanut butter cookie finish. Itís medium bodied with light-moderate carbonation and a slightly oily mouthfeel. Overall, I love peanut and chocolate, so this is great for me.

Iíve been avoiding tasting this beer because I was afraid of the ingredients. I wasnít sure that peanut butter and chocolate would meld together. But they did! This was an amazing beer! I could probably only drink one or, at most, two of these in one night. The flavors were so rich and on the sweet side. The beer poured a black color with a small tan head. The head left some good lacing around the inside of the glass. The nose was full of peanut butter, chocolate, toasted malts and some really light hops. This beer tasted like a Reeseís peanut butter cup dipped in alcohol. It had a really delicious and smooth peanut flavor with that rich and creamy chocolate tone. The finish was malty with a touch of alcohol on the tongue with even more creamy peanut butter flavor. This was a very good beer!

Pours dark brown with a light tan head, not much lace. Damn, the aroma on this is fantastic, I wasnít expecting the peanut butter to stick out as much as it does, smells just like a reeses, the chocolate and peanut butter mingle very nicely. Taste is peanut butter, chocolate, light coffee, finishes with a mild bitterness and leaves behind overall nuttiness, medium body, a tad watery. I think this beer is pretty damn good, and would be even better if it had some heavier body to it.

Dark in color, as expected. Lots of coffee aroma. Roasted coffee and chocolate flavors, with a hint of peanut butter finish. A nice offering.

UPDATED: OCT 21, 2015 200th rating! Pours black with a tan head. Aromas of chocolate and peanut butter. Taste the same with some coffee and malt sweetness. Peanut butter is nicely balanced with the chocolate. Not overpowering. Little light on the palate. Not much lacing but overall very nice.

Poured black with a bubbly, quickly disappearing head. Aroma is dark chocolate with a touch of coffee. Taste is noticeably of chocolate with a little bit of peanut butter but also reminiscent of dark coffee with heavy creamer. has a slightly bitter finish but is a tad watery. .

Sample bottle from distributorís salesmen. Pours dark, thin off-white head, aroma of nuts, roasted malt, chocolate. Taste is overly malty, sweet, light peanut butter, chocolate, a little coffee. Thereís been a buzz about this beer, and I like porters, but I find this to be highly overrated. The peanut just doesnít work for me, but I understand the popularity base don the wide appeal of peanut butter and the catchy name (which, like other DuClaw bers, has absolutely nothing to do with whatís in the bottle).
