3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle thanks to soonerchamps. Pours dark brown with a thin head that fades fairly quickly. Aroma is awesome. Great balance of peanut butter, coffee, and chocolate. Taste isnít as good as the aroma but still really good. The roast and coffee is stronger than the nuttiness and chocolate. Medium body but the mouthfeel doesnít really bring anything. Dry, roasty finish. Overall, awesome aroma but there are some flaws here. Iíd love to drink this again though just for the aroma.

3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz bottle into a tulip glass. Pours a nearly black that lets through a little light. Two fingers of tight tan foam that lasts forever. Crazy lacing. Nose is chocolate and very pronounced salty peanut butter. Smells spot on like a Reeseís. Taste is briefly sweet chocolate and salty peanut butter....then some roasty malts and a light bitterness come in before being washed away. A little awkward and just leaves me wanting more chocolate. Salty aftertaste. Light bodied and thin but it is a porter. Overall itís a really interesting beer with an excellent nose that smells exactly like a chocolate peanut butter cup, but the porter qualities seem to detract from that flavor profile.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Thin light brown head of fine bubbles. Awesome aroma of peanut butter cups, coffee, dark roasted malts and some cocoa. Color is basically black. Strong roasty flavor wiith lots of smoked malts, peanuts, mild coffee and some chocolate covered espresso beans. Slight gritty and dry palate with a decent bitterness. Finishes nutty and roasty. Much better than I expected.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma - definite peanut butter and a little chocolate in the nose
Appearance - deep brown body, opaque, not much in the way of head - off white about 1/2" and rings out
Taste - definite rich roast and peanut butter, and minor roast
Palate - body is medium, texture is more slick than creamy, carbonation is soft, the finish is roast bitters and buttery
I had a good night... think I drank about 6 of these. Dealing w/ mid morning migraines. Avoid a session of these. I know Iím in for a rough one tomorrow.

2.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20
extremely dark brown, with ruby hues. Low retention, off white head, holds up better in a tumbler then tulip.
lots of nutty aromatics, not peanut butter though, reminds me of dog chew snack aroma, no hop aroma, a rich malt sweetness hides behind the nuttiness.
the taste is heavily malt forward. a malt sweetness presents itself before the toasty, nutty character. some bitterness in the flavor seems to balance out the malt character nicely, though the nutty character consumed the beer overall.
a medium light mouthfeel, with a bit of pop in the carbonation. A smooth drinker for sure allows one to drink multiples.
overall this style is not my cup of tea. i am not sure exactly what i was looking for in a beer named after a great snack delight. The beers overpowering peanut character is too harsh for my liking, i have had beers prior that balanced cautiously with a similiar style and produced a splendid beer (Tired Hands 5 Out of 5) Iím not certain how the flavor is added but i would recommended trying to obtain the flavors and especially the aroma in a different manner.

Purchased from the Wegmanís cooler. All I got was a thin dark drink that I tried so very hard to pick up a flavor on. I could not get the chocolate or the peanut butter aromas or tastes. Something very wrong here. Must be me. I got swamp water with a drop or two of artificial vanilla. Thatís about it. However I give points for the name and the ABV. Those took some effort.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Aroma and flavor are both Reeseí peanut butter cup. I like sweet stouts and porters, but this was over the top even for me. Gimmicky effort--if you find yourself at a DuClaw there are lots of better choices.

Hot damn, I keep this in the cellar for a week and get to enter its 200th rating. Bottled 01/1?/14. Nose is of sweet chocolate with some roast and powder -- powdered íInternationalí coffee mix, powdered milk, mocha, powdered peanut butter. Very faintly fruity. Pours dark red-brown thatís black in the glass, with a sudsy tan head. Taste of chocolate with very light peanut butter, some slightly acrid tang, low mineral, vague fruit. Overall only lightly sweet with very low bitterness, no real acidity but a touch of ash. Alcohol is essentially hidden, medium body. I think the mania of trying to add peanut butter has mangled things a bit here; on the surface, it sounds like a great idea, but in practice the elements are really disparate and detract from each other, and Iím not sure the base porter is all that good. Iíll say this, though: it could have been a goopy, syrupy, cloying mess, but as it is itís quite drinkable once you get past the powdery addition. Maybe just donít have it as the first beer of the night?
