COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sweet Baby Jesus Chocolate Peanut Butter Porter is a complex, robust porter. It is jet black in color with a tan, rocky head, full body and creamy, luxurious mouthfeel. Its lightly sweet, malty flavor is accented by strong notes of chocolate, coffee and peanut butter, and balanced by a subtle hop character and moderate 6.5% abv. Sweet Baby Jesus finishes smooth, dry and roasty with notes of chocolate, espresso and peanut butter so tasty, you’ll have no choice but to exclaim the name!

From NOTES: This is one of the Top 2 best peanut butter bears. This beer feels a little watery to me, but I almost feel like this flavor needs a thicker, stout-like mouthfeel. BY ANY MEASURE, this is a flavorful beer, albeit a gimmick beer.

12 Fl Oz bottle @ Virtue Feed Old Town Virginia. Pours a near opaque brown with a nearly non-existent head (though the server poured it very gently). Aroma was amazing...unsweetened chocolate and peanut oil. Taste was great as well...semi-sweet chocolate and peanut (but not sweet like peanut butter). Full body, mild bite on the tongue with a medium dry finish. Very unique and interesting beer. Would I want more than one...no but still super interesting. ---Rated via Beer Buddy

Bottle thanks to my father in law Dan: Poured a brown color with a tan head. Aroma is nice peanut butter. Taste was more of that peanut butter with strong robust malts and chocolate. This beer has that WOW factor.

Draft to taster pour opaque dark brown with moderate ecru head. Nose big peanut butter, light nut, sweet malt. Taste peanut butter, light roast. Minimal chemical. Lingering peanut butter finish.

12 oz. bottle. Gifted to me by a vacation buddy who lives in Maryland. Pours dark brown with a thin beige head. Peanut butter nose. Flavor is sweet, more chocolate than peanut butter. Body could be more substantial, but otherwise, very nice!

My first DuClaw brew. A relatively new brewery to the shelves around my area. Opaque pour to snifter with full fluffy, sand-colored head. Decadent nose of sweet cereal (like Cookie Crisp), toffee, condensed milk, very dessert-like smells. Caramel and cookie aromas amplify as it warms. Flavor is nice roasted malt base with milk chocolate, peanutbutter cookie, light vanilla and honey. A little pale on the palate and a bit light on the mouthfeel. This would taste truly sensational if brewed as an imperial. Looks like I got my sugar fix for the day!

Bottle at Beer Bloggers Conference 2015. Pours a stout brown with a tan head. Nose is up sweet chocolate, peanut shells, peanut butter, and up sweet peanuts. Flavor is similar with roast, earth, peanut shells, peanut butter, and some dryness into the finish. Light to medium in body and not bad overall.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, no bottle dating. Pours fairly clear very dark brown color with a 2 finger dense khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big milk chocolate, cocoa, peanut butter, caramel, toffee, toast, brown bread, light herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Fantastic aromas with great complexity and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and peanut butter notes; with great strength. Taste of big milk chocolate, cocoa, peanut butter, caramel, toffee, toast, brown bread, light herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light herbal/roast bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of milk chocolate, cocoa, peanut butter, caramel, toffee, toast, brown bread, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and peanut butter flavors; with a good roasted bitterness/sweetness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, moderately creamy/silky, and slightly chalky mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an awesome peanut butter porter style. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and peanut butter flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. The aromas were much stronger with peanut butter presence; the flavors were more balanced overall. A highly enjoyable offering.

Bottle from JB. Pours a dark black with a tan head. The aroma was chocolate and roasted coffee. The taste was coffee, creamy chocolate and a hint a peanut butter. The porter was very cold at 1st. The peanut butter came out more as it warmed. Thanks JB.
