3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Served on-tap at Al’s of Hampden.
A - Pours dark brown with a small off white head leaving spotty trails of thin lace down the top part of the glass.
S - Smells of fresh toasted peanuts, bakers chocolate and the dark roasted grain. The nuts are strong, combining with the chocolate to make this ones nose exactly as advertised.
T - Tastes just like it smells, maybe with a bit less nuts, making it a bit more balanced. Some light hop bitterness comes through as it warms up. Finish is roasty, lingering on the palate for quite awhile after consumption.
M - Heavy body with moderate carbonation. Smooth, roasty feel. Finish is roasty, lingering for quite awhile.
O- Overall a pretty good chocolate PB beer but not the best I have had. Definitely worth a shot if your into this kind of beer, just don’t expect the something mind blowing.

Bottle. The color is a deep brown. The aroma is mostly chocolate with a subtle hint of peanut butter. The taste is an interesting mix, has a corn flavor to it. A good mix of chocolate and peanut butter.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
If you like Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, this is the beer for you. 12 oz bottle pours dark brown with a medium size beige head. Robust aroma of peanut butter and chocolate. This is a liquid Reese Butter Cup. Peanut butter aroma is stronger than the taste. Taste is peanut butter and then the chocolate. Full body and good balance. Very tasty and intriguing. I definitely liked it but don’t think I would want more than one at one time.

You can definitely taste the chocolate and peanut butter, which is interesting. It’s a little fake tasting and watery but pretty good.

Sweet Baby Jesus! What a beer. Picked up this beauty out of pure intrigue. Chocolate and peanut butter, I was interested to see how they worked together as a porter. Upon opening it had an uncanny resemblance to a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup, it pours inky black with a quickly fading tan head. On tasting it was more of one of those trendy Starbucks drinks that incorporates a blood thickening amount to caramel. On the pallet it presents notes of burnt oat and malts that generates a nice mellow lingering finish. Not usually a fan of porters but this one was velvety smooth like an Oscar Wilde jacket.

Thanks to my local AZ crew for hooking up this bottle. I get some peanut butter notes, dry chocolate notes, some bitter earthy flavors. I was hoping for a wow, but I got a beer that’s just above average.

Smells and taste like a peanut butter cup. Don't know how many I could drink before becoming cloying. But the one I had was delicious.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle, 12oz. A lightly unclear dark brown beer topped by a dark beige head. The aroma is very peanut-ish, with mashed bananas in the back. A faint chocolate and coffee touch blends in. Feels pretty sweaty actually. The flavor is chocolatey and peanut buttery, with some banana. Roasted malts too. Full body, pleasant carbonation. Lasting finish. Sure a weird one, but fun to taste. Can’t imagine I will be able to drink a bottle on my own. 140228
