THOUGHTS: Not bad but a little artificial. Slightly watered down, too. Definitely interesting and worth a try. Fun but not spectacular. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a medium to dark brown that looked nearly black in the glass with bright red highlights and an average, off-white head that mostly diminished but left excellent lacing. The aroma had heavy milk chocolate and chocolate milk; moderate coffee; cherry; grape jelly; slightly face peanut butter aroma. The initial flavor was sweet; while the finish was moderately sweet, slightly acidic and bitter, and ever so slightly sour with an average duration. There was chocolate, coffee, peanut butter, cherry, and roasted malt, but it all seemed slightly artificial and slightly water. The medium body was sort of creamy with fizzy carbonation and a lightly astringent finish.

Poured a deep brown almost black color with aromas of peanut butter, earth, cacao, and chocolate. Flavors were earth and light oily peanuts with s nice chocolate finish, a solid beer overall.

Dark chocolate brown color. Gets a little red at the edges. Amazing chocolate aroma. The peanut butter really hit me in a way that it never has on draft. (I poured this one in several spurts.) Short of some kind of peanut butter infused chocolate shake, Iíve never sniffed anything like this. The flavor is like a liquid peanut butter cup. The nuttiness subsides a bit, giving way to the sweetness. The peanut butter is absolute though. This beer absolutely, positively needs to warm up. Iíve had it too cold on tap and itís no good that way. Itís excellent if consumed correctly.

12 ounce bottle - $2.00 at Tasty Beverage Co. in Asheville, North Carolina.

Appearance: Pours a very dark brown body with a faintest hint of tawny ruby at the far, far edges. Scant, stray beige bubbles struggle to maintain a head beyond a minute or so.

Smell: Well, frankly, it smells of a peanut butter cup that beckons you to let it in your mouth and embrace you in its endless grasp of sweet chocolate laden peanut butteriness.

Taste: A roasty, sweet, chocolaty start with a bitter richness akin to a dark chocolate creeping in which is quickly overtaken by the peanuts peanuts peanuts. A light fruitiness, a bit hard to discern beyond the, as previously mentioned, peanuts peanuts peanuts. Perhaps an imagined slight salty element. Finishes as it starts: sweetish, chocolaty and full of peanut butter.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Lightly creamy mouthfeel.

Overall: Granted, Iím not a fan of peanut butter anything, really. I had thought the locally-produced Liquid Bliss by Terrapin was fair enough, but, to my surprise, this was actually pretty good (at least for a twelve ounce bottle and a two-buck purchase) and one of the better beers at pulling off the whole peanut butter angle.

Extremely full bodied very tasty. Palate kicks butt full rich gritty grainy. With coffee beans peanut butter and a touch of chocolate. Nose is similar. Dark pour.

Well, that was a fun beer. Wish I had bought more, actually. And yes, it smells and tastes exactly like youíd expect - Chocolate covered roasted peanuts. Maybe a little coffee in the finish, but not much.

12 oz bottle via trade. Black appearance with a diminishing tan head. Aroma of chocolate, peanut butter, roast and dark malts. Similar flavor, mild bitterness and light sweetness with a peanut finish. Medium body. Rich, smooth and tasty. Pairing: James Taylor - Sweet Baby James (album)

A big thanks to my buddy Harold (aka chipalsa). This is my kind of brew. Aroma is peanut butter, roast, cocoa, coffee. Pours a black body, tan head. Flavor is spot on roasted malts with not overbearing peanut butter flavor. It was like a Reeseís cup in a glass, less sweet. Awesome stuff.

12 oz bottle. Pours a deep, dark brown almost black and topped by a small layer of tan colored foam at the head. The foam quickly recedes and leaves behind a thin film on the glass. The aroma is really nice showing notes of dark chocolate, lightly roasted coffee, and creamy peanut butter. Just a hint of hop bitterness in the back ground to balance things out. The flavor follows and doesnít disappoint with more chocolate and peanut butter followed by a touch of espresso. Very reminiscent of a peanut butter cup. Medium bodied with subtle carbonation with a slick and almost creamy mouthfeel that leads to a smooth, dry, roasted peanut finish. Delicious stuff. Certainly the best peanut butter beer I have had. Love this beer and I just wish I could get more of it.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured a black color with an average frothy brown head that mostly lasted and produced good lacing. Moderate roasted sweet malt, coffee and peanut aroma. Medium to full body with a dry smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy toasted dark sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is the very good brew.

Bottle. The darkest brown with a half-finger of light tan fizz. Brilliant aroma -- peanut butter, sugary red grape (itís almost like a PB&J with this combo), a bit of toast. The flavor has a lot less going on in terms of fruit, but the roasted peanuts are nice, interplaying with acrid roast before a dry, light and somewhat bitter finish. The bodyís soft and whipped, with mild, fizzy CO2. Wish the flavor was as bright as the aroma, but as peanut butter beers go, this is the tits.
