COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
First brewed in 2011, this Chocolate Peanut Butter Porter is jet black in color with a tan, rocky head, full body and creamy, luxurious mouthfeel. Its lightly sweet, malty flavor is accented by rich flavors of chocolate, coffee and peanut butter, and balanced by a subtle hop character and moderate 6.2% abv. Sweet Baby Jesus finishes smooth, dry, and roasty with lingering notes of chocolate and peanut butter so savory, you will exclaim its name!

Heathen (1500) - Wilmington, Delaware, USA - JUN 28, 2013
THOUGHTS: Not bad but a little artificial. Slightly watered down, too. Definitely interesting and worth a try. Fun but not spectacular. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a medium to dark brown that looked nearly black in the glass with bright red highlights and an average, off-white head that mostly diminished but left excellent lacing. The aroma had heavy milk chocolate and chocolate milk; moderate coffee; cherry; grape jelly; slightly face peanut butter aroma. The initial flavor was sweet; while the finish was moderately sweet, slightly acidic and bitter, and ever so slightly sour with an average duration. There was chocolate, coffee, peanut butter, cherry, and roasted malt, but it all seemed slightly artificial and slightly water. The medium body was sort of creamy with fizzy carbonation and a lightly astringent finish.

Bottle courtesy of McBeer. Completely opaque black body. Thin off white ring. Nice peanut aspect. This beer has been sitting for awhile (at least a year) and it has maintained good carbonation. Excellent.

Draft at local Buffalo Wild Wings. Pours black with an inch of khaki foam. Big peanut notes on the nose with some solid chocolate notes as well. Huge peanut notes on the tongue as well along with some roasty malt notes. Finished clean. I've not been a big DuClaw fan but this one's pretty good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Opaque, tan head. Rich nose. Full body, intense flavor, rich, smooth and spritzy mouthfeel with moderate heat, lingering palate. Bitter, sharp, dry. Intense roast flavor, dark roast coffee. Big porter, practically a stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Small bottle from Bottle Jockey in Burnaby. A very dark beer with moderate tan head and, yes, peanut butter on the nose. Tastes distinctly of chocolate and peanut, but in a good way. Pleasant, but no complexity here. Slightly astringent finish. 3.7

12oz bottle. Cola dark-brown body topped by creamy small beige head. Aroma is moderately sweet, peanut butter, light chocolate, coffee. Taste is sweet, chocolate peanut butter, some salt/nut, light roast. Light-medium body, some stickiness, light creaminess. If for some unknown reason you’re seeking out a chocolate peanut butter beer, this one delivers on its promise.

Well done creamy Porter, fairly well balanced - maybe a touch more peanut butter than chocolate. Smooth and easy drinking dessert beer, reminiscent of Liquid Bliss.

Dark brown color. The aroma is a nice chocolate peanut butter spread. The mouthfeel is soft and moderately sweet; nice chocolate flavor with some peanut butter; the final is a bit too roasty.
Weird, but nice.

Sampled in a glass, poured from a bottle, this beer had a dark brown (almost black) pour and gave a small, thin cover of light tan and off-white bubbles, it left some nice spots of lacing, the nose had peanut butter, dark toasted malt and a little roasted malt, some caramel, chocolate and light coffee, brown sugar and faint molasses, as the beer warmed up, I notice a green bean and/or green coffee note? the flavors were toasted malt with a little roasted malt notes, toasted grain, coffee, and a bit of chocolate with caramel, brown sugar and faint molasses, the peanut butter was in the background, the finish had a little roasted malt bitterness, the malt bitterness lingered with roasted malt and coffee trailing, there was a hint of green bean and/or green coffee note, the mouth feel was light medium, it was a little creamy and had average carbonation, the presentation was weak, small head and it receded to almost nothing, but it was ok when I swirled the glass, the peanut butter and porter mixed pretty well, the nose was nice, but as the beer warmed up, a green coffee, green bean note appeared, the peanut butter was very much in the background of the flavor, and there was a faint green coffee, green bean like note, get rid of the green bean and/or green coffee note in this beer and it would be a better drink.
