3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
THOUGHTS: Not bad but a little artificial. Slightly watered down, too. Definitely interesting and worth a try. Fun but not spectacular.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a medium to dark brown that looked nearly black in the glass with bright red highlights and an average, off-white head that mostly diminished but left excellent lacing. The aroma had heavy milk chocolate and chocolate milk; moderate coffee; cherry; grape jelly; slightly face peanut butter aroma. The initial flavor was sweet; while the finish was moderately sweet, slightly acidic and bitter, and ever so slightly sour with an average duration. There was chocolate, coffee, peanut butter, cherry, and roasted malt, but it all seemed slightly artificial and slightly water. The medium body was sort of creamy with fizzy carbonation and a lightly astringent finish.

Roasted pea-nutty aroma, thin tan head and dark brown body. Bitterness evident as well as the peanut butter flavor in this Porter along with chocolate and roasted malts. Unique porter that by looking at the ratings you either love or hate....my palate liked this gimmick of a beer.

I give this a 2... 1 because it’s a beer and 1 for ABV. This might very so be one of the worst porters I’ve ever had. I wanted to like it, but the truth is I have had better peanut butter beers in my homebrew club. This one was poorly executed. It did have nice aroma, and if I could kick back and relax by sniffing beer all night it would be a winner, but I like to drink it as well and in this case, I regretted my decision to order it when I was about 4oz into my pint (worth noting, this should be served in a 10oz pour, not a pint).

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle: Deep brown, nearly black, moderate frothy beige head, spotty lacing. Dark chocolate and roasted peanut butter cup on the nose. Chocolate soda on the tongue, not so much on the peanut butter. A little bakers chocolate, ashy on the finish. Moderate body and mouthfeel. A bit dry, dark chocolate, and ashy bits linger. The peanut butter seems to all be on the nose. Interesting at least, but was expecting more peanut butter and sweetness. Thanks Ramy!

1.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20
To start: one of the most disappointing, underwhelming beers I’ve ever had the displeasure of drinking.
Aroma: A high-ish point. Nutty aroma, bit of chocolate, promising.
Appearance: Dark, not terribly thick, typical porter. Solid, not amazing. Minimal lacing, head needed an aggressive pour to form.
Taste: Metallic, thin. Artificial fizziness dominates and obscures whatever flavor might be present beneath it. Cocoa and peanut butter notes are present but not pleasantly so. Finish is mouth puckering & metallic. In a word, unpleasant.
Palate: Worst part by a mile. Initial feel is pure fizz, middle portion before you swallow is thin and unsatisfying, finish is long, astringent, metallic and otherwise terrible.
Hugely disappointing beer. Can’t believe this thing clocks in at ~95/100 at the time of writing. It’s possible that I had a bad bottle, yes, but my experience was corroborated by the friend who had had it previously and shared the bottle.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nicely aromatic with notes of peanut butter, slight vanilla with chocolate. Almost faintly smells a Reese’s peanut butter egg. Dark and opaque. Smooth through the palate with a touch of peanut butter at the finish. Subtle notes of coffee bitterness.

3.9 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz. bottle at Dave’s tasting. Pours dark brown, not quite black, with a tan head. The aroma is amazing, fresh peanuts/peanut butter. Some notes of chocolate and coffee are present as well but the aroma is all about the peanuts/peanut butter. The flavor is unfortunately not as enticing with some mild peanut butter and chocolate. Could use a little more heft in the body as well. Still, a really fun beer to drink. Makes me long for some Funny Bones!

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a dark black with light brown head. This is the first of many peanut butter beers that actually has an aroma of peanut butter, but also with coffe an, chocolate. This thick beer is rich with chocolate, coffee, light malt, spices, and again the first hint of peanut butter I’ve tasted in once of these beers.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Pours a lovely mahogany with a tan head. Has a very robust smell of peanut butter and chocolate. You immediately taste the peanut butter but then after you taste dark chocolate. Leaves a clean after taste.

Very very very peanut buttery.
Hints of chocolate and coffee.
I really don’t care that the flavors are artificial they taste great to me.
This is a fun beer to have a couple of.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours out almost black with a thin off tan head. Aroma is of chocolate, roasty peanut butter, light coffee and some toasty malts. Taste is complex and a solid blend of the flavors with nothing taking too much of a center stage. Roasty peanut butter, chocolate, toast, mild coffee, some lingering sweet nuttiness. Nice mouth feel. Solid, tasty and we’ll done.
