COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sweet Baby Jesus Chocolate Peanut Butter Porter is a complex, robust porter. It is jet black in color with a tan, rocky head, full body and creamy, luxurious mouthfeel. Its lightly sweet, malty flavor is accented by strong notes of chocolate, coffee and peanut butter, and balanced by a subtle hop character and moderate 6.5% abv. Sweet Baby Jesus finishes smooth, dry and roasty with notes of chocolate, espresso and peanut butter so tasty, you’ll have no choice but to exclaim the name!

Aroma carries a definite cocoa and peanut butter edge. Also a little malt and a scotch feel. Poured with almost no head except a white ring, and a dark dark brown. Taste highlights a malty cocoa, but with a lighter smoothness. Palate is medium, and a little slick but not too much. Finish was a little bitter but in a good way.

BOD 2/6/15. Pours nearly pitch black. World class head volume, outstanding lacing and retention. Rich powerful nose of peanuts and dark chocolate over a subtle malt sweetness coupled with roast and hints of coffee. Light medium body, barely, with a smooth texture. Normal carbonation with a bit of effervescence in the middle and a reasonable amount in the finish. Unfortunately, the flavor profile doesn’t equal the world class aroma. It is intense, complex and well balanced. It begins with a fresh peanut, or peanut butter, aspect that slowly yields to the bitter dark chocolate and roast underneath. As the middle approaches, a mild bitterness settles in over a balancing caramel sweetness complete with milk chocolate notes. As the finish approaches, coffee is evident, and slightly astringent, along with a more noticeable nutty aspect that seems a bit stale - or artificial. The finish includes a bitter dark chocolate fadeout.

Bottle from Capone’s. Smooth mouthfeel. Smell and taste very peanut buttery. Dark brown with a little head and lace dots. Quaffable. Not as sweet as expected and that’s a good thing.

Dark pour, fast fading head. Aroma is akin to a Reese peanut butter cup. Chocolate, peanut shell taste. Fairly sweet with a surprisingly bitter aftertaste. Dessert beer

I poured it from the bottle into a pint glass. It pours a very dark brown with a tan head and lacing. The aroma is a roasty peanut butter with some chocolate. The taste is the same with the peanut butter up front and the chocolate on the back end. The mouth feel is more carbonated than expected. A more creamy mouth feel would make this better. I’m a sucker for peanut butter though.

Had this twice recently, once at Vintner and once in Charleston WV. Just outstanding. Perfect blend of flavors layered on a tasty stout, full bodied and very dark. No idea how they get the PB in there but man is it good.

Woah, fast ausschliesslich Erdnussbutter, sowohl im Aroma und Geschmack. Sehr süss, wirkt künstlich. Mundgefühl ist gut und voll. Auf der Flasche steht "Peanutbutter Aroma"! Nie wieder ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle pours a black color with a bit of a head. Peanut aroma and flavor dominates. The peanut flavor quickly overtaken by a heavy hop bitterness.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle, a deep black with a small, quickly disappearing head. Massive aroma of chocolate and peanut butter smells more like dessert than beer. Both carry through to the flavor along with a significant sweetness that makes it reminiscent of milk chocolate and a dry peanut butter. Body is nice and overall it’s definitely a fun, well done obscurity.

BOTTLE 12OZ from Bov. Black with brown highlights, beige head with poor retention. The aroma is indeed... big on peanut butter! Cocoa and peanut butter desert, peanut oiliness. It tastes like an ordinary porter, quite dry and simple, with a bitter finish and light roast. The peanut butter is not dominating but ever present. The body is quite oily (and the head’s poor retention confirms it), the bitterness is a bit burnt and harsh. Though, it is not over the top or, leave alone, artificial, the peanut butter thing certainly feels a bit gimmicky and needs some getting used to. Bizarre, but interesting.

Bottle shared by PinkZambia Clear dark brown, aroma of...well... penut butter. As close to a liquid penut butter cup. A bizzare experiment not bad.
