COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sweet Baby Jesus Chocolate Peanut Butter Porter is a complex, robust porter. It is jet black in color with a tan, rocky head, full body and creamy, luxurious mouthfeel. Its lightly sweet, malty flavor is accented by strong notes of chocolate, coffee and peanut butter, and balanced by a subtle hop character and moderate 6.5% abv. Sweet Baby Jesus finishes smooth, dry and roasty with notes of chocolate, espresso and peanut butter so tasty, you’ll have no choice but to exclaim the name!

Aroma carries a definite cocoa and peanut butter edge. Also a little malt and a scotch feel. Poured with almost no head except a white ring, and a dark dark brown. Taste highlights a malty cocoa, but with a lighter smoothness. Palate is medium, and a little slick but not too much. Finish was a little bitter but in a good way.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured a black color with an average frothy brown head that mostly lasted and produced good lacing. Moderate roasted sweet malt, coffee and peanut aroma. Medium to full body with a dry smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy toasted dark sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is the very good brew.

Bottle. The darkest brown with a half-finger of light tan fizz. Brilliant aroma -- peanut butter, sugary red grape (it’s almost like a PB&J with this combo), a bit of toast. The flavor has a lot less going on in terms of fruit, but the roasted peanuts are nice, interplaying with acrid roast before a dry, light and somewhat bitter finish. The body’s soft and whipped, with mild, fizzy CO2. Wish the flavor was as bright as the aroma, but as peanut butter beers go, this is the tits.

Bottle. Muddy brown body, tan head. Aroma of peanuts, roast, sugar, toffee, chocolate. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Just OK for a novelty beer. The bitterness and the peanut butter not working together for me.

Solid porter. Dark Amber brown pour. Pb, chocolate, some creaminess, but a weird long lasting bitterness that didn't quite jive. Still pretty good for a sweet after dinner type beer.

Smells better than it tastes. Has an underlying bitterness, especially on the finish, that really undermines a great setup. Gives it a biting acrid note like Reese’s (cheap) peanut butter, unfortunately. Might make an awesome adult vanilla float though.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12 oz bottle into a tulip glass. Appearance: The body is a very dark amber brown color topped off with a small soapy tan head. It’s head quickly settles down to a ring of foam at the edge of the glass with a wispy thin film in the center. Lacing is minimal. Smell: It’s big nutty notes hit me right as I opened the bottle. In the glass I get loads of sweet peanut butter and cocoa powder like notes. Taste / Palate: The flavor tastes just like a peanut butter sandwich covered in cocoa powder. Its sweet overall but not overly so. The feel is smooth and softly carbonated.

Bottle. Dark brown with reddish tint, large spongy beige head, chocolate-peanut butter aroma, medium carbonation, slightly bitter mocha taste with peanuts flavor, longish bitter finish. Quite an interesting mix of tastes and flavors.

Black color with beige foam head. The smell has chocolate, peanut butter and sugar marshmallows. The taste continues what the smell has started. Very agreeable aftertaste, but a bit too sugary.

Purchased a 6-pack in Baltimore on my trip to see Maryland Deathfest. Pours a dark copper colour with a frothy beige head, good retention and decent foamy lacing. The peanut butter part is really in the smell, with hints of chocolate and dark fruits in the background. The nuttiness is a little milder in the taste with the dark fruit of the porter smoothly sailing. The chocolate malt lingers. Did not feel much of the nuts in the first few bottles, but this last one brought home really is present. I now have much respect for this brew. Congrats !

Bottle. This is a nice snappy little brew with deep peanut and chocolate flavour. Good and unique.
