This one poured a light orange color with a white head. Aroma was straight sorachi hops. Mainly lemon grass and bubble gum. Flavor was similar with spicey yeast notes. Done well, just not a big fan of the hops.

Bottle:   Pale straw, a bit hazy, slightly dirty, moderate frothy white head, spotty lacing.   Pixie stix like citrusy aroma, a bit candyish, powdery, and dry.   Very faint herbal soily background.   Citrus peel and a faint shrubbiness on the tongue.   Has a slightly earthy hop aspect.   Comes across as a Pale Ale in its softer bitterness.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Pixie stix like powdery sweetness on the finish, a little citrus peel too.   Not bad, a big Pale Ale to me.

Bomber from State Line. Pours copper with a finger of off-white head. Nose is lemongrassy hops, pale malt. Tastes of lemon and grapefruit and a hint of sweetness, with pale malt and a crisp finish.

Sad to say, this bottle was clearly, clearly infected. Light orange, large, lasting head. That should have been my first signal. Second signal should have been the lack of much aroma in an IPA. Then the end came, phenolic rubber and funk. Not the good funk. The bad funk. Can’t believe this thing didn’t reek to high heaven. Only thing that give me reassurance was that other haven’t seemed to hit this. Might circle back. But hey, while I have that infection thing fresh on my mind, I may just circle around and give that Blue Mountain Barrel House beer that has been scaring me in the back of the fridge a whirl!
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Huhzubendah (1980) - Washington DC, USA - DEC 7, 2012
On draft at DuClaw in Bowie, MD.
The beer is yellow hued with a mild haze, sporting nearly a half inch of pure white head that leaves ample lacing on the glass.
The aroma brings spice, malt, coconut, milk, rice, hops. Interesting.
Sorachi Ace hops emerge in the flavor more than in the aroma. A delicate milky coconut flavor blends well with a mild hop character. Some herbal/tea notes add a touch of intrigue and complexity. Much better than I expected.
Medium bodied with appropriate carbonation. The aftertaste carries a subtle but lingering sweetness with hints of fruit and coconut.
Overall, an interesting and enjoyable brew. I’m glad I branched out and gave it a shot.

22 oz. bottle. A hazy copper pour with a huge & fluffy khaki head. Oranges, lemons, grapefruits, zesty citrus rinds, grass, and some caramel maltiness dominate the aroma. Relatively thin to medium-bodied. Crisp and effervescent. The taste starts with some lightly sweetened cereal graininess and a touch of caramel. A bit of a biscuity middle. The finish is all bitter, drying hoppiness with lots of grapefruits, some oranges, and plenty of zesty citrus rinds. Fairly spicy and lemony throughout. Tasty stuff.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 Foxbush (988) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - NOV 21, 2012
22 oz bomber The ale poured a clear orange with white foamy head and modest lacing. There is a spicy lemon taste with complex bitterness unlike other hops. The carbonation is lively for a medium body ale. The finish has a bitterness that fills your mouth wih a prickly feeling. Good ale with unique taste.

Very refreshing and maybe touch to lite for me but still good. This beer would go well with a white flaky fish. Citrus more on the lemon side are in the aroma and one of the first things u taste.

Slightly hazy amber with a thin head. The aroma has bread and malt with a bit of lemon. The flavor starts sweet but the hops take over soon after. Lemon and grapefruit and a hint of sweetness. Nice beer.

Tap. Golden with decent head. Not as hoppy as I like my IPAs. Kind of had a hint of butteriness and came off as cereally to me.
