This sessionable red ale is quite malt forward. You will get distinct nutty flavor with hints of biscuits and raisins. A light-bodied beer, Asylum Harbor is a perfect choice when you don’t know where to go

Poured an amberish red color with aromas of bread, cream, malt, nuts and light dark fruit. Flavors match the aromas light cereal and malt, fruit cakeish flavors as well decent but not totally my cup of tea.

Draft... Pours hazy, dark and dirty-orange with a small, creamy, white head. The nose is nutty and biscuity and accompanied by an undercurrent of golden raisins. Medium to full-bodied with a lightly creamy mouthfeel and relaxed carbonation. The malty flavor is loaded with caramel, dates and nuttiness. Fairly well-balanced. Not cloying at all. Fruitcake in the finish

On tap at the brewery. Reddish brown pour with a tan head. Malty aromas. Big malty notes with some bitterness from the hops. A bit one dimensional. Average body and mouthfeel.

Very solid Red Ale. Gold medal winner at Brewers Ball. I could easily see this being an every day drinker. Medium body, nice malt complexity and smooth mouthfeel. Keg ran out a little too soon or I would have had more.

Draft at the Coffee District in Delray Beach, FL. Pint glass. Pours a deep reddish amber with a one finger white head. head lasted and sporadic lacing. Aroma was nuts, leather, malts, bread and cereal. The taste was a blend of the breads, nuts, malts and cereals. Very smooth and creamy. Easy to drink, finish was hearty. I really loved this red from Due South. They have been cranking out some gems recently.

Tap. Light to moderate grain for the malt, light herbs for the hops, light dough for the yeast, with hints of faint spice and paper. Head is average size, frothy/creamy, light beige with excellent lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is murky medium dark red/brown. Flavor starts slightly sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes slightly acidic and lightly bitter. Palate is medium, slick with a lively carbonation. I’m not usually thrilled about Amber Ales, but this one was a good one.
