Foxbush (1320) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - NOV 20, 2014
Draft at a taproom in Boynton Beach This was a nice looking porter with tan head and lacing. The porter poured a deep black with coffee on the nose. The taste has coffee, some light vanilla, and hints of chocolate. The porter had a light body with average carbonation. This is porter that is as refreshing as the morning ’s first coffee. A smooth finish with coffee on your tongue.

32oz oversized novelty can, shared by Ryan - thanks! Dark brown pour, khaki head. Coffee dominates, along with bread and chocolate. Taste is minimally sweet with a roasty coffee finish. Palate: medium- body, average carbonation. Overall: solid.

12oz can via trade. Pours a medium clear brown with a puffy tan head. Aromas of vanilla dosed coffee. Taste is semi sweet and lightly bitter. Flavors of vanilla, coffe, roasted malt in that order. Very thin mouthfeel. Thin and underwhelming. It’s just ok.

Can--near black color with a small, tan head that leaves a ring and a touch of lacing. Aroma is espresso with some sweet overtones. Roasted taste, didn’t seem like too much coffee to me with some sweetness. Thinner than expected. Total wine.

12oz can in a tulip. Pours near black with a beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, some light vanilla, hints of chocolate, some dough, and some light bitterness. Flavor the same with a nice blend. Average texture. A solid coffee porter.

Rich, parched, roasted nose. Black, with a thinnish, coating foam. Bad can. Sweetish, fresh coffee. Medium body. Tasty, and I don’t like coffee. ABC Liquors, Betton.

Weezel (213) - Florida, USA - AUG 31, 2014
Nice black pour with little head retention. Aroma of coffee and dark toasted malt. The taste is big coffee and the vanilla is very prominent. Kind of bubbly, and wish it was a little more dense and smooth. Very good though.

On tap at the brewery. Brown pour with an off white head. Big black coffee bouquet. Dark roasted malts, coffee notes with hints of spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, etc.). Good body and mouthfeel.

Draft at the tasting room. Pours a deep brownish red with a thick head. Some lacing. Powerful coffee and roasted malt aroma. Taste was very heavy coffee espresso, roasted malts, and peat. Medium body, drier finish with coffee residual.
