Another medal winner from Due South. Nice coffee flavor with no bitterness. Softer finish, tastes like vanilla. One of the better coffee beers I’ve tasted.

@Brewers Ball 2014. a pretty decent porter, but could have had a more upfront coffee flavor.

draft at the brewery. brown color with red highlights, off white head. taste is like coffee grounds and slightly harsh. ok, but not well done. seems a little too aggressive.

Smells like a straight up cup of joe. Tastes that way too. I dont drink coffee, but I would if it tasted like this. Delicious. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a deep dark brown with big tan head. Big smooth espresso aroma, roasty and some chocolate. Much the same in the flavor, espresso is big and the roast and chocolate come through in the end.

Opaque dark brown - black beer, good pale tan head. Palate is slightly soft and dry. Dry dark malt but no roast or bitterness. Fair dose of tangy coffee Mild lactose. Touch of dark fruits underneath. Dry finish. Not bad.

On draft at Due South. Pours a hazy black-brown with an off-tan head. Nose is roasted malt and roasted coffee with big espresso and some chocolate. Flavor follows suit- very nice bit of roastiness; roasted malts, roasted coffee, espresso, chocolate, and some sweet notes. Light to medium in body for the style and very nice overall. At 5.5%, I could drink a lot of this one.

glennmastrange (2145) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - JAN 22, 2013
Tap. Moderate to heavy malt aromas of toasted and strong coffee, light herbs and resin for the hops, light earth for the yeast, with a hint of asphalt in the background. Head is small, frothy, light tan with fair lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is dark brown. Flavor starts lightly to moderately acidic, then finishes lightly acidic, heavily bitter and a bit sour. Palate is light to medium, watery with a lively carbonation and a lightly astringent and very dry finish.
