Noire. Tête brune. Dentelle.

Damn this is pretty terrible. Overly roasted, dry, acrid, bitter, thin as water...WTF? this reminds me of a bad brown ale.

On draft at Due South. Pours a medium stout brown with an off-tan head. Nose is roasted malts, some dry coffee, some baker’s chocolate, and some mild cocoa. Flavor follows with some roast, some dark chocolate, some cocoa, earth, and dry coffee. Flavor finishes dry with earthy bitterness.

Draft at Sybarite Pig. American pint. Nitro. Super thick white head with nice black thick body. Aroma of roasted malts, cocoa and vanilla. Taste very roasted malts, nuts, chocolate, and vanilla. Bitter finish. Mouth isn’t very smooth. Mediocre.

glennmastrange (2287) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - FEB 26, 2013
Tap. Moderate malt aromas of bread and toasted, light herbs and dough for the hops and yeast, with a nice note of cocoa. Head is large, creamy, light beige with excellent lacing and good legs and is fully lasting. Color is sparkling clear very dark brown with a red tint. Flavor stats lightly to moderately sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes lightly acidic and moderately bitter. Palate is on the fuller side of medium, watery with a soft carbonation. It’s a little artificially sweet tasting , but this Dry Stout has some really nice cocoa aspect to it. Above all it’s very easy drinking.

Pours a dark brownish, black head, with a small head and very light carbonation. Nose is mild cocoa. Taste is light chocolate, and not full of any deep outstanding taste. Finish is dry and light. OK at best .

On draft at brewery, poured a dark black color, aromas of roast, coffee, coco, and some light vanilla. Flavors follow suit, coffee shines the most, light earty flavor in the aftertaste. Not a bad stout, glad this was still on when I got there.
